I certainly won't give Seraphina another chance.

I shook off her hand, looking at her tear-stained face as she collapsed on the ground: "It's come to this. You're on your own now."

My phone rang. It was a colleague saying the company had prepared a grand banquet to welcome me back.

She was my junior from the same alma mater. We had interviewed for the company together.

However, she later went to work at the headquarters in Paris, while I, having just married Seraphina, didn't want to leave her.

So, I willingly sacrificed my career prospects to stay in the States as the company's head for the Asia-Pacific region.

I gave Seraphina one last look before walking away without turning back.

Seraphina still refused to give up. Even though public opinion back home had turned against her, she remained in Paris, seemingly ready to risk it all.

While I was dining with colleagues, someone suddenly exclaimed—

"Look at that person downstairs. Are they here for Mr. Grey?"
