Delia saw Conrad appear and, after hearing our conversation, felt a surge of guilt and immediately wanted to turn and leave.
Conrad noticed her movement but his expression remained unchanged as he coldly said, "So you're the one who said my darling was someone else's mistress? Do you know the legal consequences of spreading rumors?"
"What darling? Melody, are you married?"
Delia's eyes widened in disbelief.
I calmly nodded, "Yes, we've been married for almost three years. My husband and I are very much in love. You really don't need to worry, I won't be competing with you for Garrison."
I just wanted to stay far away from him from now on, like strangers who had never met.
Hearing my words, Delia finally realized she had truly misunderstood me.
She hurriedly apologized to me.
I wasn't so magnanimous as to easily forgive someone who had hurt me.
I didn't respond and pulled Conrad away to leave.
