What the heck

Riley

"Ma, I'm going home."

"Huh? Are you sure you're okay? You're sweating."

"I'll be fine, I just need to rest."

"Let me come with you..."

"No." She cuts her mother off.

"Okay, fine. Just call me when you get home. Alright?"

"Yeah."

"Let me take her home." I glare at him.

"Will you do that?" Of course, Mom loves the idea.

"I'd be happy to. I mean, she doesn't seem to be doing too well."

"Just mind your own business." I snap at him.

"Riley! Don't be rude. Son, don't mind her. Take her home for me. I'll be so relieved if you do."

"Mark will drive me home just fine." I say.

"Don't be stubborn, Riley. Take her home, Xavier."

He nods in agreement. I scoff and hurry out of the hotel, with Xavier hot on my tail. I finally thought I wouldn't have to see his face anymore, but look at me now. Sitting with him, at the backseat of his car, as George drives us to my penthouse.

I feel really sorry for George. To have to be in the same car with us with the uncomfortable tension that's in the air.

But, let me worry about myself. These cramps are killing me! I wonder what I was thinking, coming straight here after landing at the airport. Now look at how much pain I'm in all because I thought coming to his launch party would be a good idea.

"Drive faster, George!" It comes out much harsher than I thought.

Silence envelops the car.

I exhale. "Sorry. I didn't mean to be rude, but I really need to get home like right now!"

Fortunately, George just nods his head and steps on the accelerator.

It hurts so bad!

When I open my eyes though, I'm already in bed. In my bedroom.

What the heck.
