Chapter 15

When I arrived at the hospital, Callie was lying on the bed.

She was hooked up to various machines, her face looking extremely pale.

This was Callie, this was actually Callie, and for the past five years she had spent most of her time like this.

Thinking about all this, I stood by her bed, unable to even make a sound.

Dear God, can't you be a little less cruel?

She's such a wonderful person, how could you bear to be so harsh to her?

My tears started falling uncontrollably.

I couldn't hold back anymore and finally broke down sobbing.

"Callie!"

"Callie!"

"Callie!"

"Callie, I was wrong, I was so wrong."

"I'm sorry, please wake up and look at me, okay?"

"I'm sorry you had to endure all this alone for five years, I'm here now, please wake up and look at me!"

I don't know if it was God taking pity on Callie, or feeling sorry for me, but I saw Callie's fingers move.

She slowly opened her eyes, and I saw a hint of surprise in her bewildered gaze.
