Chapter 3: The Birth of a Familia

Eina Tulle had spent years working at the Guild, helping new adventurers navigate the dangers of the Dungeon.

But gods?

She had very little experience dealing with them.

And now, standing in front of her was a newly arrived god, claiming he wanted to establish a Familia.

For a moment, she panicked.

But years of professionalism quickly took over, and she straightened up.

"Understood, Lord Sora. Please follow me to complete the Familia registration process."

As she turned to lead them, her eyes landed on the three girls standing behind him.

"Your followers should come along as well," she added.

Sora nodded.

"Alright, let's go."

Ai Hayasaka, ever the strategist, stepped up immediately. "Yes, Lord Sora."

Kanae Kocho and Megumi Kato followed quietly.

Eina's colleague, Misha Flott, who had been helping an adventurer nearby, snapped her head around in shock.

The second floor…?

That was where only gods went when forming a Familia…

Wait a minute—

A new god?!

Her jaw nearly dropped.

---

On the second floor, Eina guided them into a spacious, formal-looking room.

"Lord Sora, please wait here. I will prepare the necessary documents."

With a polite bow, she turned and left.

Sora exhaled.

"Finally. One step done."

But he wasn't celebrating yet.

Because starting a Familia wasn't just about paperwork.

He needed a home.

And he was broke.

"System, what am I supposed to do about housing?"

"Most new gods find abandoned buildings! Just like Hestia did!"

Sora groaned. "So I have to squat in a ruin?"

"Yep! Unless you get rich!"

"...Figures."

---

BANG BANG BANG!

"Lord Sora, everything is ready!"

Eina returned, pushing a small cart into the room.

On the top shelf of the cart sat a crystal sphere, covered with a blue cloth. Beside it, something else was wrapped in fabric.

"Please, place your hand on the crystal," she instructed.

Sora stepped forward.

The Familia Registration Process was simple:

Drop blood on the crystal.

If divine energy was detected, a Familia Charter would appear, confirming the god's legitimacy.

If no divine energy was found… well, things wouldn't end well.

Sora pricked his finger and let a drop of blood fall onto the crystal.

The moment it touched the surface, the orb glowed blue.

A piece of parchment manifested out of thin air, its text filling in automatically.

Eina let out a relieved sigh.

"Congratulations, Lord Sora. The Sora Familia is officially recognized."

Sora grinned.

"Ding! Quest Complete: Register a Familia!"

"New Quest Issued: Secure a Base of Operations!"

---

"Oh, by the way, Miss Eina."

Eina blinked. "Yes, Lord Sora?"

"What kind of support does the Guild provide for new Familias?"

Her expression immediately stiffened.

"None."

"...None?"

"Only basic starter gear for your Familia members. Standard weapons and armor."

She hesitated.

"...But even that requires money."

Sora facepalmed.

So even the beginner gear was on credit?!

The Guild was basically a bank!

Sora sighed. "Thanks for the info, Eina. We'll be on our way."

Eina watched as the group left, biting her lip.

She wasn't sure how well they'd do in Orario…

But she hoped they would return safely.

---

The sun had set.

Streetlights flickered to life, illuminating Orario's bustling downtown.

But away from the lively marketplace, in the quieter outskirts—

Sora and his three penniless followers were searching for a place to stay.

"...We're homeless."

Sora sighed as they wandered through the city's outer edges.

"No money. No connections. Nothing."

Megumi Kato, ever the quiet one, simply glanced around, her expression unreadable.

Kanae Kocho, calm as always, offered a small smile. "We'll find a solution, Lord Sora."

Hayasaka Ai, on the other hand, was already scanning the area like a professional.

"Lord Sora," she called, pointing ahead. "That building looks abandoned."

Sora followed her gaze.

A run-down, crumbling estate stood at the edge of the district. Parts of the walls had collapsed, and weeds had overtaken the once-grand courtyard.

"...It's perfect."

---

The group got to work.

Sweeping, cleaning, clearing debris.

It was exhausting.

But after over an hour—

They had something livable.

Sora collapsed onto the floor.

"Ugh… I'm dying."

Ai Hayasaka, stretching her arms, smirked. "Come on, Lord Sora. You're a god. Don't tell me you're already tired."

Sora groaned.

"God or not, cleaning sucks."

Just then, Kanae Kocho entered the room, carrying a steaming pot of water.

Sora sat up, surprised. "Where did you get that?"

Kanae smiled gently. "I boiled it outside."

While everyone else was cleaning, she had quietly gathered wood, started a fire, and boiled fresh water.

Sora was genuinely impressed.

"...You're amazing, Kanae."

She gave a small laugh. "It's nothing special."

Megumi Kato took a cup without a word, sipping calmly.

Hayasaka Ai exhaled. "Alright. What's next?"

---

Sora sat up straight.

"...I need to give you all Falna."

The girls turned toward him.

Sora continued, "It's what allows adventurers to gain skills, magic, and status. Without it, you won't be able to fight properly in Orario."

A brief silence.

Then—

"I'll go first!" Hayasaka Ai raised her hand.

Sora blinked. "That fast?"

She smirked. "If it makes me stronger, why not?"

Moments later—

Ai Hayasaka lay face-down on the sofa, her maid uniform partially removed to expose her back.

Sora, concentrating, pressed his finger against her skin.

A faint blue glow spread across her back.

Seconds later, letters and symbols began forming—her status sheet appearing before him.

"...Wait. You actually have magic?!"

Hayasaka sat up, looking just as surprised.

"Magic?"

Sora handed her the status sheet.

Hayasaka Ai's eyes widened.

"...Wait. My magic is… my disguises?"

Her four personas—the different identities she used back home—had become an actual ability.

"...That's insane."

---

"Alright. Next!"

Kanae Kocho stepped forward without hesitation.

She removed her cloak and lay on the couch, calm and composed.

Sora repeated the process.

Her status sheet appeared.
