Chapter 1 “A Morning Like Any Other”

On a snowy field, two children stood together as enemies converged on them.

One was a young boy, and beside him, was a young girl.

Both looked tired and had injuries across their bodies.

But in turn, the snowy mountain they were on had many people laid defeated, wounds across their bodies, unable to fight after the two had come together, and defeated them.

"They just keep coming. Like cockroaches." The girl called out.

The boy looks at her, showing a determined smile. "Not stopping now are you?"

The girl half smirks. "Just about to ask you the same thing actually, I can keep going for a while yet."

"Don't worry about me, lets take these bastards out together." The boy tightens his hand, readying to fight.

All around them, were a group of people dressed in cloaks, weapons in hand.

The boy and girl looked to one another, their fingers curling into fists.

"I'll take the left, you take the right." The girl advised.

The boy playfully salutes. "Leave the right to me."

They raised their hands, energies swirling around their hands as they activated their unique powers, aiming at the enemy, unleashing torrents of energy, bombarding the enemies coming closer...

"Ugh..." Laying on a bed, a young man tosses and switches off the alarm ringing beside his bed.

Brushing his to the neck length golden blonde hair, with sky blue tips on his bangs, out of his sapphire blue eyes, the young man begins lifting his head off the pillow.

Yawning, the boy named Kazuto looks to the light streaming through the windows.

"…Those dream again…that girl…I didn't even see how it ended..." Kazuto murmured, rubbing his eyes, when he felt something fall against his head.

He looked, and saw next to his face, was a stuffed white Dragon plush.

He looked at the plush with a small smile, before he pulled himself off the bed, his arms firing into the air as he continued stretching.

Cracking his shoulder, he walked and exited his bedroom, going towards the bathroom on the second floor of his house, stepped inside of the shower, and begins doing his morning routine.

After he was finished, he came to his bedroom, and got dressed in his school uniform, consisting of a black blazer with white accents, a white shirt with a black ribbon tied there, and finally black pants, leaving the top two buttons undone, and once checking he had everything, he exited his room.

His feet whisked him down the stairs, seeing that at the bottom of the stairs, his grandmother, an elderly woman in her late sixties stood there, showing a toothy smile.

"Morning Grams." He smiles with a little yawn.

The elderly woman snickers. "Kazuto, what is a baby shark? And I don't mean an actual shark baby."

Kazuto snickered. "Eeh, its a song, usually for kids."

"So that's what those kids were talking about. I'd love to hear it, can you get it up on the little device in the kitchen?"

"I can if you want, but I'm not sure you'd love it Grams, might drive you nuts." Kazuto walked to the kitchen with a laugh.

The old woman followed, her eyes displaying an excitable look to them. "So, are you making breakfast my dear grandson?"

"Sure, I've got breakfast, Grams." The boy fiddled around in the kitchen, and soon put on some eggs and bacon. "Aah right Grams, gonna be late tonight, got work, pulling a double."

The woman showed an elegant smile. "I think its because you've got a girl there, and you're embarrassed to tell me who it really is. Can I take a guess on who it might be Kazuto?"

Kazuto snickers ever so slightly. "Ooh yeah, if that's what you wanna believe Grams, I wont stop you."

Kazuto's grandmother playfully rolled her eyes. "Its fine you don't want to tell me, I'll find out eventually anyway. I have a way and means."

Kazuto gives her a curious look, finding it intriguing by how she'd do that.

But he shrugged, and continued making breakfast, while his grandmother showed a proud smile on her face.

However, as he made breakfast, he noticed his grandmother looking a little faint. "You alright Grams? Taken your med's this morning?"

"I have~" Kazuto looked amused at his grandmothers blasé nature. "I'm alright my boy, just my old bones and body catching up with my youthful spirit. Don't worry about me." Kazuto slowly hums, and quickly dishes out the food once it was made. "By the way, been keeping up your training regime?"

"Yeah, been keeping in shape."

"Good, its good to keep a healthy body. You never know when you're going to need it."

Kazuto curiously stares at his grandmother, as she usually asked that question.

Though he put it to her just wanting the best for him.

Sitting down together, Kazuto and his grandmother casually chit-chatted away about various things, though Kazuto could see his grandmother had something on her mind, something that she wouldn't tell him about, only making him worry about her.

The day started off as pretty normal, and Kazuto went to his class. He walked through a sea of students, who spoke rather pleasantly to him, so he exchanged pleasantries as well to all those that spoke to him.

Though when he got to his classroom, he was suddenly bombarded by a young woman with brown hair, glasses, and a perverted look on her face.

"No." Kazuto rejected.

"I didn't say anything yet!" The girl complains.

"You didn't have to, I can see that look in your eye, its a no." Kazuto strolled towards his seat.

The girl named Aika Kiryuu gave semi bemused, and semi serious eyes.

"The Prince needs a Princess, and if rumours are to be believed, then the Princess of the school and you have been hanging out after school. Going to tell me about this?"

"What's to tell? Yumi-chan and I work at the same place, we talk, and we're friends."

"Well yeah, but you know who I heard you were seeing?"

Kazuto let out a small breath. "I'm going to dread this, but who is it?"

"I heard rumours that you and Rias Gremory-senpai met one another secretly, and are dating."
