Weeks past but one evening, I closed early from work cause I planned going grocery shopping so I made sure I finished my work early and indulged in some much-needed self-care.i bought some personal items that had almost finished at home, it was part of my budget that month,I cooked my favorite meal, reviewed some documents, and prepared for a restful night's sleep. As I layed on bed I drifted off, I couldn't shake the feeling that something was missing. "I wish to be complete," I whispered, my life feeling boring yet familiar, like a worn-out shoe.
That's when I saw her – a beautiful lady with long, white hair standing in front of a towering mirror. The room was shrouded in darkness, but she radiated a majestic glow. There was a distance between us I wanted to get even more closer.
As I walked closer my eyes went down to her hands. Her hands were blurry, but as I drew even closer, I saw she held a teddy bear in one hand and a blood-soaked knife in the other. Her eyes, black as coal, flowed with tears as she gazed at me.While staring at each other her eyes turned red,I felt no fear but a little sadness, I decided to talk to her.
"Are you okay?" I asked, searching for answers in her red-rimmed eyes.
Suddenly, she grasped my arms then smiled at me,her smile gleaming like a child reunited with her favourite lost treasure. "I... I have been waiting for you," she whispered, her voice barely audible._
"I have been waiting for you," she said, her hands trembling as she grasped my arms. Her grip was tight, and I struggled to free myself,it didn't feel like she was letting go any sooner . "Do you always squeeze someone's arms when they try to offer help? That hurts!",I said
As I looked around, I realized I had no idea where I was, i only remember trying to fall asleep. The black tears streaming down her face didn't seem to scare me a bit non detract from her beauty . "What is this place, and who are you?" I asked.
Her smile was unsettling and turned scary as if I was watching a psycho smile. a forced curve on her lips that didn't reach her eyes.
"Those questions are so basic, yet they hold a deep history. I can't answer the first question now, but I'll give you an answer later. If you're curious, consider this my precious little jewel ,"WE ARE ONE" she said, A sweet sweet Dream Come True."hehehe
I smirked, "A dream come true? You call this a dream come true?, you standing in front of a weird mirror with a knife soaked in blood and a doll, black stuff pouring out of your eyes. And you call this...?" A dream come true? I said
But before I could continue, she interrupted me with the same eerie smile. "You are me, I am you, we are one simple."
I tried to process her words while looking at her in wonder, she most surely be sick in the head and it was interesting, I liked how I felt around her, I also felt she would have known what have happened to be few weeks back with does strangers and occurrences but before I could ask any more questions related to them,my alarm clock pierced the air, jolting me back to reality.
The persistence of my alarm kept going, piercing through my eardrums like a relentless cry for attention. I was half awake, trying my best to return to the pretty lady in my dreams,i still had more questions, but to no avail. Her captivating smile, her beauty lingered in my mind, making it hard to shake off the allure of slumber. Finally, I stood up, dragging my exhausted body all the way to the bathroom.
As I stepped into the bathroom, the fluorescent light above flickered to life, illuminating the stark white tiles and the empty space where a mirror should have been.
"I really want one," I said to myself.
Admitting the reason I thought of a mirror. It wasn't just about vanity; it was about starting the day with a reminder of my own presence.
