This message made all who were present fear for their lives. A mans destiny was said to be foretold on these sto e balls when their energies were first awoken. Xiao Yuzhe's was one that would never have been expected, a strong message of rebellion against the king himself. A message that could have an official like Lu Nan executed without question simply for associating with it.
The princess immediately told Xiao Yuzhe to head to the guest house and pack all his belongings, Xiao Yuzhe could not see the message himself but when he heard the urgency in Zhao Meis voice he followed without question.
When Xiao Yuzhe disappeared all who were present agreed to remain silent on the matter. Zhao Mei told them not to worry and that it would be taken care of.
When Xiao Yuzhe had returned he had died as the princess instructed and packed what things he had as well as his skill book, which he hid in his shirt. Zhao Mei was seen whispering orders to Guo Li who had them walked off quickly.
"What's going on?" Xiao Yuzhe asked.
"It's nothing, when Guo Li returns you are to follow her and listen to everyword she tells you." The princess said this urgency.
"Yes your Highness." Xiao Yuzhe cupped his hands and bowed.
When Guo Li returned she told Xiao Yuzhe that they would be heading for the local city called Cranes Rest. Xiao Yuzhe didn't ask a single question and followed Guo Li out of the manner and onto the road.
Xiao Yuzhe though confused was excited to see the local city, the only other time he was there is when he broke his ribs after he had just woken up in this new world. When he thought about this his body reminded him of the pain he felt from that time, he decided when he got there it would be best to mind his own buisness no matter what happened.
Once Xiao Yuzhe and Guo Li had gotten a few miles from the manor Guo Li stopped in her tracks and began to speak.
"I know your wondering why the princess sent you away so suddenly after having your energy awoken."
Xiao Yuzhe looked at Guo Li
"Yes, I've been wondering this since we left. I'm aware the princess is fairly intelligent and must have had a reason."
Guo Li turned around and said.
"You can't go back to the manor for now, at least not until suspicions die down. That stone ball you saw reveal a person's destiny in life most are something simple like love or wealth. Yours was message of rebellion directed at the king "
This stunned Xiao Yuzhe and his blood ran cold and his skin had goosebumps. Guo Li continued to speak.
" The Third Princess still thinks you would be useful as a bodyguard, I really have no clue why. She decided to send you to secluded training somewhere in the city. She will keep sending you skill manuals and cultivation techniques, just from a distance."
Xiao Yuzhe was pleased to hear this, he was afraid he had lost a great opportunity but Guo Li's words brought him comfort.
"So where am I being taken too?" Xiao Yuzhe asked.
Guo Li responded promptly "You'll see when we get there."
Guo Li began walking away before Xiao Yuzhe could ask anymore questions.
Soon they had reached the city, on the way Xiao Yuzhe was able to figure out from Guo Li the city was named Cranes Rest because when the founder of the city came here he saw a Crane land In what is now the town square.
Guo Li had lead Xiao Yuzhe through the city, he noticed that the city was very lively with trade and had children running around playing games in the street. Eventually they had ended up in a very rough looking part of the city, people were passed out drunk in the street, there were whores trying to get Xiao Yuzhe's attention and beggars asking for a few cents so they could get more opium. Guo Li hadn't even batted an eye and her face grew serious. They stopped in front of a big building that looked torn down and abandoned and had a very ominous aura about it
Guo Li knocked on the door in a strange sequence, someone opened the door and recognized Guo Li and let them both in. Once inside Guo Li looked at the man who was at the door and said.
" I brought you a new slave for the arena."
When Xiao Yuzhe heard this his eyes widened and his heart sank, he turned around to try to leave as quickly as possible the guard at the door struck him in the back of the head. Then two men came and put a rack on Xiao Yuzhe's neck and dragged him away. Guo Li was handed about Thirty pieces of silver.
Reader for a moment here were going to break off in our story and talk about Guo Li, don't worry we will get back to Xiao Yuzhe in a bit
Guo Li was a very cunning and deceitful individual, she had grown up in the rough part of the city and was regularly beaten by her father who was drunk with a gambling addiction. One day her father lost money while he was gambling that he had borrowed from some very ruthless thugs, when Guo Li had heard about this she found the thugs and told them where they had lived and helped them hide in their home for when her father returned. As soon as he got home the thugs had brutally slaughtered him, Guo Li seeing the whole scene only smiled and helped them hide any evidence.
After this she was adopted by the thugs and grew up in the gambling dens as retainer who would was paid to find those who owed them debts and often times left their bodies near the side of the road outside the city.
Now one day the fourth prince who was always known for going to whore houses and getting drunk in gambling dens was drinking with the leader of the thugs. Here he met Guo Li and heard she was good at doing what she was told no matter the job, so the fourth prince offered her a job working as his younger sisters servant. The sister he was talking about was Zhao Mei, naturally the standing of the position was far better then where she was currently at and accepted the offer without hesitation.
When Guo Li became a servant she was raised in the ranks pretty quick. Anyone who ever crossed her or was in a position that she desired always would "run away with some lover they had found," Or "went home to their parents and never returned." Soon she became the head servant and though the other servants knew of her cunning none ever dared to cross her path or speak against her.
When Xiao Yuzhe was saved by the princess and given special treatment, he became her enemy. So when the opportunity arised to get rid of him she immediately took it and decided to sell him as a slave to a secret gambling den where slaves were forced to fight to the death. As soon as Guo Li had returned to the manor she simply told the Princess.
"The ungrateful beggar ran away out of fear for his life."
All the servants immediately knew she had lied, but none dared to so say a word.
