Chapter 47

After couple of days, Rain was sitting at his office already done from his paper works for today, also because the time was almost midnight and it was the 26th, he tried to scout for any information about this invitation and everything but less things been rumored around additionally of what his father told him. For example that name 'Hades' it's been said that the leader calls himself like that, what his real name? No one knew even if the mafia is in the south around 15 years now, and they grow little by little…

Rain saw his phone vibrating, he look at the caller ID and it was the head of the security, he answered the phone call and hearing what the other says his reply was "I am on my way" hanging up he look at his phone and the time was 00:01 thinking that they are punctual because the security head called telling him that an unknown car arrived stopping at the entrance of their building.

Heading down, he sure doesn't trust an unknown person who came and invited him out of nowhere to an address that he still doesn't know. Which leads to his men already there ready to pull their triggers on anyone.

Once he was at the gates he saw a black car stopping with a driver standing near the back door, seeing him bowing in respect the driver spoke after opening the door for him

"Mr. Volk, feel free to take everyone if you want, and either you want to get in the car or follow me from behind, the choice is yours"

Rain wonder what with those free to do what you want options, thinking if this Hades isn't afraid he would turn the meeting into a bloody night. He look at his men giving them the sign to follow him. As for him, he gets into that car not afraid of anything. What the worst it could happen? He will die? Nothing in this life is worth living for anyways. Why would he be afraid of leaving it?

Looking at his side, a black box was sitting next to him. He of course didn't touch it or asked the driver about it, he kept silent in that driving journey. Till they reach the grand-hall hotel in the middle of the city, this hotel is known about his big hall that holds weddings usually or any big events. When they stop, he saw so many fancy cars there and so many guards, faces that he didn't see before.

"Please, accept the small gift in the box"

The driver suddenly spoke to him, and Rain took the box opening it to see a red and black masquerade eye mask decorated with some black and golden pearls

"It's necessary to enter, and you will be allowed to bring 5 others with you, please understands that it's for everyone safety"

Hearing the 'instruction' Rain went down signing for 5 men to follow him, and they did, when he was at the hotel entrance, the security there gave a simple black full-face mask to the 5 following him, asking them politely to head to the grand-hall.

As they said, as he did. When he was at the hall entrance he could see that there was a masquerade party going on, and everyone was wearing the masks. He as well put that mask on, and gets inside blending in between the others.

Not much time after, the big gate of that grand-hall was being closed, he look around thinking that as much as there was just 5 invitations, why there is so many people here? But then noticed other men wearing the same simple full-face black masks as his own men. So probably those belong to one of the invited guests just like him.

The orchestral music starts, like they were informing the start of the party, and some ladies were smiling taking their partners hands and walk to the center of that hall where they form a ball-dance space starting to dance with that elegant music.

Drinks were starting to be served, and people were enjoying the chit-chat, Rain in the other hand stands in the corner with his men around him not talking to anyone, but observing everyone. From the outfits, the other 5 guests are easy to identify since they got treated the same way as him, with the same mask and the 5 guards rule, other people didn't look familiar at all, but each one of them wears a different mask like they chooses them with their outfit with their own taste, like they knew they were going to a masquerade. Which left a probability that they are all that Hades followers.

Some time has passed and his eyes landed on a girl that was looking at him from now and then, and once their eyes met this time she smiled and had the courage to walk to his direction with her light blue dress and eye mask, her hair was black barely touching her shoulders, when she moves with her black high heels shoes.

When she was right in front of him she smiled and that smile was a rectangle one, a little unique he must say, "You want to dance?" she asked baldly and he was about to refuse, but couldn't find the time because she stepped closer taking his arm and pulling him happily

Rain was a little confused, but he doesn't feel like she is harmless, from that thin dress on her, she doesn't even hold any weapon and it was so obvious. She stopped once she was inside the dancing area taking his hand and putting it on her waist "you know how to dance to this type of music right?" she asked and nodded answering herself as a sign to start dancing

And yes Rain knew how to dance randomly to those type of music as long as he leads the dance, and she was easy to since she has a small body compared to his.

A 5 minutes of dancing and she was smiling widely, enjoying it fully! But suddenly the lights on that hall start decreasing getting darker and darker till it was only a mix of blue and purple, and another slow melody start playing…

"Oh get ready!" she suddenly said looking around her

And Rain notices how not only her but some others reacted the same way. He knows what follows this sudden change, a synchronized group dance, and he doesn't want to be part of it but as if she reads his mind she grabs him with "it's easy to keep up I promise, don't leave me without a partner!"

Rain couldn't think twice she put her arm up along with the others next to him, and they start turning around at the same time. He did try to follow those men around him. And the girl was happy he didn't let her down.

Dancing a ballroom dancing like this wasn't in his plans, but the atmosphere was quiet interesting, yet this sudden darkness could let a crime happen!

Along the dance the girl got closer and put her both arm on his shoulders telling to put his around her waist while they all were synchronically turning. After they turn for three times she whispered "repeat the dance from the beginning three times and I will come back" he was confused by the sentence but she suddenly made a turn and went smoothly to the one next to him, while another girl came to dance with him from the other side.

The girl bowed in an elegant way and raised her hand repeating the moves from the start with him. This time he could say he nailed it without a mistake, and then another girl came to dance with him, so this was the second one, once they again start turning the second girl smoothly went to the one next to him, but he was confused since the girl was now standing next to his original dance partner! Maybe the turn got mixed since they need to come back to their original partners the next round, he turn to look at the man in front of him, who bow raising his hand, Rain did the same following the flow of the dancing and start to turn looking at him

The man was kind of avoiding the direct look. Probably because it is awkward to dance with another man. Still his mask was a bit different hiding even his cheeks, with his half long red hair showered with some grey indicating that he was old.

But even with that darkness and his eyes mostly on the floor he could notice the man had that small twitch smile. Rain had to stay aware, because his aura doesn't look peaceful at all, he was bothered of how he should act! But the sudden 'acting awkward old-man' got closer to him still moving with the dance yet putting one arm around Rain waist looking directly at his eyes.

Rain who was aware of his body actions did hold the man's arm and wanted to push him away but felt his gun being pulled with it, Rain twitched his eyebrows while titling his head with a look of 'I got you' but the man's hand was empty once he pulled it up, the interesting part for Rain was that the man did finish the dancing having that determinate smirk telling 'you didn't see a thing' like he wanted him to know he is robbing his gun and if you dare…stop it!

When the dance part got closer again Rain wanted to play it safe, he holds the man wrists and he saw him grimace while looking down at their arms and whispered with a boyish voice showing that the guy is still young no doubt and that grey hair is just a matter of taste

"Prosaic…"

Hearing that Rain raised an eyebrow, thinking of this guy choice of words yet he like the challenge so he did lose the grip and went to the normal dancing way, still it was already the last part and the guy moved his arms up putting them around Rain's neck making a direct eye contact with him just like the other dancers

"Time's up! Sad you didn't succeed" Rain said and the guy smirks liking what he heard that's when the time was up and the guy was about to move to the next partner when Rain did inform again "nice ring you have"

The guy stopped in his track looking at his hand but his reaction was of someone who got the joke back on him, he look at Rain and he was holding the ring between his fingers. Seeing how narrowed his eye-looks were after the realization. even in that dark atmosphere he was satisfied, pulling a trick like this isn't the best move from this new mafia! But they tried!

"Hi again"

Rain look fast at his original partner coming back to his side, and look back at the guy but he wasn't on his sight anymore. thinking that he won for sure and the guy retreats! They should not play dirty with him anymore! Inviting him to the dance was bold enough!

"Excuse me" Rain said excusing himself back to his men. And continuing to enjoy the performances of that masquerade.
