CHAPTER 30

Kael's POV

I return to my office and plop down on my chair, rubbing my forehead. I really don't know why I've been having these migraines more than usual recently. Staring at the pile of paperwork in front of me, I sigh.

Budgets… Treasury… Civil codes… Disputed territories… All waiting for my approval. Raking my fingers through my hair, I flip open the first file. I had barely read the first line when the door is slammed open, and I am met with the image of my fuming brother.

"What the fuck is she doing here?"

Great. Of course. How could I forget? My sweet, innocent big brother.

"She has a name, brother. You can call her Maeve, you know?" I raise a brow at him, and I see a nerve in his forehead twitch.

Trying to control his rage, he seethes through gritted teeth. "Kael, this is not a bloody joke. That woman is evil. You better throw her out, or I—"
