Chapter 10: The Million-Year Soul Beast Heavenly Tribulation

"The Ghost Emperor added something to the mental suppressant medication you took."

To the reminder from Di Tian, the Demon Emperor was not surprised in the least.

"I know this. The Ghost Emperor is an ambitious guy who refuses to stay under anyone. How could he possibly wholeheartedly assist me?"

"But I don't care. Those artificial drugs can't control my will. If he weren't of use, I would have killed him long ago!"

"Hmm."

Di Tian sighed. "It seems I've said too much. You're no longer the naive little woman you were thousands of years ago, who would shrink behind the Deep Sea Magic Whale King whenever she met me."

"Two thousand years of drifting in the sea of blood has long since turned you into a qualified ruler of beasts."

The Demon Emperor froze for a moment, not saying anything further.

But memories from her past made her nose tingle and her eyes redden.

Yes.

Two thousand years ago, she was just a carefree young woman, living without a worry under the protection of the ocean overlord, the Deep Sea Magic Whale King.

Then, everything changed, and now nothing was the same. She could only sigh and weep silently, wishing for the days when she was ignorant of the world's hardships, even if it meant being laughed at as a foolish little woman.

They walked in silence as they released the Titan Snow Magic King from his sensory block, restoring his movement abilities, and the three of them left the blood pool.

The Demon Emperor, cloaked in black robes, descended before the Ghost and Underworld Emperors.

"I need to go out for a while. Guard this place well, and don't make any major moves before I return."

The Ghost Emperor and Underworld Emperor were both confused. Their usually reclusive empress, who never left her domain, was now leaving just because a man came to invite her?

They wanted to ask more questions but, seeing the coldness in the Demon Emperor's eyes and Di Tian's unwavering gaze, they respectfully responded:

"Yes." ×2

After leaving these instructions, Di Tian also gave the Titan Snow Magic King a token.

It was a pendant, shaped like a leaf, about the size of a baby's palm. It was pitch black, with intricate lines and patterns, faintly emitting a purple glow.

The pendant was attached to a black cord, thin but incredibly tough.

"Is this a Dragon Scale?" The Titan asked, taking it in both hands, puzzled.

"Yes."

"It's my Black Dragon Reverse Scale. It's been carried by Huo Yuhao for a thousand years, so you might be somewhat familiar with it."

"With this, even if some reckless person enters the extreme northern core area, it should be enough to protect you."

The Titan tightly grasped the Black Dragon Reverse Scale and respectfully said, "Thank you, Beast God!"

"May the Beast God's journey be a success!"

Even though his senses were sealed under the blood pool, the Titan Snow Magic King did not feel regret.

His strength was limited, but he would know what he needed to know, and the rest was better left unknown.

The conversation between the two strongest beings of the Soul Beast Tribe must be an earth-shattering event.

As long as it was beneficial to the Soul Beast Tribe and the extreme northern land, he, the Titan, would risk his life to support them.

"Thank you for your well wishes."

With the Titan's hopes on him, Di Tian and the Demon Emperor vanished together.

The Titan Snow Magic King, left behind, sharpened his gaze, becoming vigilant of the various figures watching him from the shadows.

But with the Black Dragon Reverse Scale in hand, he felt much more at ease.

Amidst the greedy eyes eyeing his soul rings and bones, he finally left the headquarters of the Holy Spirit Sect and flew toward the core region of the extreme north.

Outside the extreme north, Di Tian and the Demon Emperor quickly moved toward the southern end of the continent.

"Di Tian, I've agreed to follow you, but you won't hide anything from me about what we need to do next, right?"

"Of course not."

"There's nothing to hide. We are heading to another continent, the Star Luo Continent."

"Years ago, the defeated Star Luo Empire discovered and established a new kingdom there."

"On that continent, there's a small world belonging to the Dragon Clan, called Dragon Valley."

"Though it's called Dragon Valley, it would be more appropriate to call it the Dragon Tomb. It was opened by the Dragon God's dragon soul and is the burial site for the fallen dragon bones from the Divine Realm's war."

"The natural entrance to it is controlled by the forces of the Tang Sect, and it has natural restrictions on age and cultivation."

"We can only open a spatial passage by force, relying on our powerful cultivation."

"I've never entered Dragon Valley myself, and there might be unexpected changes. I need someone who can forcibly open the spatial passage to help us from the outside."

"As for why we're going there? The things inside can help me face the Million-Year Soul Beast Heavenly Tribulation."

When Di Tian said the last sentence, his tone became firm.

"Are you crazy?!" The Demon Emperor suddenly shouted, agitated.

"Not a single Soul Beast can survive the Million-Year Soul Beast Heavenly Tribulation."

"The Auspicious Beast is gone, and your chances of success are even slimmer."

"You know better than I do why that Heavenly Dream Ice Silkworm could break through to a million years."

"It never actually faced the tribulation. It only reached that level of cultivation by absorbing the essence of the Ice Spirit for ten thousand years."

"It was less of a soul beast and more like a million-year-level heavenly treasure."

Both the Demon Emperor and her husband, the Deep Sea Magic Whale King, had cultivation near the million-year mark, but neither had ever considered attempting the Million-Year Heavenly Tribulation. Instead, they sought ways to become gods.

It wasn't that they didn't want to, it was that they couldn't!

Once they neared the million-year boundary, their spiritual senses would issue the highest-level warning, and stepping one step further would mean certain death.

Therefore, every soul beast near the million-year mark would try to suppress their cultivation in hopes of living a little longer.

Di Tian became unusually serious.

"I know the story of the Heavenly Dream Ice Silkworm."

"Facing the Million-Year Heavenly Tribulation with my current strength is just as difficult as breaking through the universe's divine tribulation and becoming a god."

"But you should understand, my origins are from the Divine Realm. I was once the personal guard of the Dragon God."

"The Dragon God achieved this back then. As the ancestor of all soul beasts, he was indeed capable of doing this."

"Heh." The Demon Emperor was almost amused to the point of laughter.

"The Dragon God is the Dragon God, and you are you. Do you still have any self-awareness?!"

"If you were capable of the Dragon God's level, would our Soul Beast Tribe have ended up in such a state today?"

After silently mocking him in her heart, she was suddenly puzzled. Di Tian didn't seem like the type to boast.

"Dragon God... The ancestor of the Soul Beasts... Dragon Valley... The Dragon God's divine soul..."

"Di Tian... True Dragon bloodline... Originating from the Divine Realm's pure-blood Dragon God..."

"You want to devour the Dragon God's divine soul and evolve towards the Dragon God's bloodline?!"

"No!"

"It's completely impossible!"

"Even if you have the Dragon God's divine soul, you still can't evolve into the Dragon God bloodline. The Dragon God's claws aren't the original bloodline power of the Dragon God!"

"You're right."

"Devouring a Dragon God's divine soul can't evolve into the Dragon God bloodline, and the Dragon God's claws are the same."
