Chapter 14:First Day in the Top Class

Luc sat at his desk.

Drained. Dreading. Depressed.

The classroom? Spacious. Polished. Too fancy.

Mira was grinning. Riku was half-asleep. Eve? Focused. Always.

Luc? Suffering.

Then—the door swung open.

A woman strolled in.

Confident steps. Sharp eyes. A smirk that screamed trouble.

She dropped a book onto the desk—loud, intentional, teasing.

"Alright, rookies. Welcome to the top class."

Luc blinked. Who the hell—

"I'm Zara Voss, your instructor."

The Students

Zara leaned on her desk. "Before we start, let's make this fun. Introductions."

Luc sighed. Great. More people to disappoint.

One by one, they stood up.

Mira: "Mira Ren! I like fighting, explosions, and winning! Let's have fun!"

Eve: "Eve Loraine. Specializing in Holy Sigils. Don't slow me down."

Riku: "Riku Vale. Call me when it gets interesting."

Then, the others.

Adrian: "Swordsman. Efficient. Don't waste my time."

Felix: "Illusions and trickery. Don't believe everything you see."

Selene: "Healing and purification. Try not to die too fast."

Chi: "Speed and assassination techniques. You won't see me coming."

Dave: "Tank. I'll take the hits. You better finish the job."

Rayna: "Summoner. My spirits do the work. I just tell them how."

Ivan: "Barrier specialist. I keep people alive."

Liza: "Alchemy and potions. Tell me if you need something deadly."

Noah: "Tracking and detection. Nobody hides from me."

Aria: "Wind magic. Stay out of my way, or you might get blown away."

Theo: "Fire manipulation. If it burns, I like it."

Kira: "Lightning user. Don't touch me unless you want a shock."

Marcus: "Cursed weapons expert. My blades bite harder than I do."

Vera: "Water control. Calm or deadly—it depends on my mood."

Luc blinked. Wait, that's 17.

Everyone turned to him.

Zara smirked. "And you?"

Luc forced a smile. "...Luc."

Silence.

Zara raised an eyebrow. "That's it?"

Luc shrugged. "That's all you're getting."

Mira snorted. Eve sighed. Riku smirked.

Zara laughed. "I like you already."

Zara Voss: The Teasing Teacher

Zara crossed her arms. "First rule. I don't do boring lectures. Second rule. Don't waste my time."

Luc gulped. Oh no.

"Now, today's lesson—" Zara grinned. "Energy gathering. Simple, right?"

Luc frowned. That sounded easy.

"You gather energy, wrap it around your body, and reinforce yourself."

She gestured.

The air shifted—a soft glow wrapped around her arms like a second skin. Warm. Pulsing. Alive.

"Like this. Your turn."

Luc exhaled. Okay. No big deal.

Luc's Struggle

Everyone else? Perfect. Instant. Easy.

Luc? A mess.

He reached for energy. It twisted. Warped. Resisted.

Like trying to hold water in clenched fists.

His own aura—wrong. Different. Dark.

Zara raised an eyebrow. "Trouble, Luc?"

Luc forced a smile. "Just… warming up."

Mira was already glowing. Riku barely tried but still did it. Eve? Flawless.

Luc? Sweating.

Luc's Discovery

He couldn't force the exorcist energy. It rejected him.

But… maybe he didn't have to fight it.

Instead, he layered the exorcist energy over his own.

Hid his aura beneath it.

Slowly… the energy settled. Blended. Worked.

Luc's body glowed.

Zara's smirk widened. "Huh. Interesting."

Luc swallowed. Did she notice?

Zara's Test

"Alright. Let's test it." Zara clapped her hands.

Luc froze. Wait. Test?

Zara walked up. Smirked.

Then—she flicked his forehead.

For a split second, Luc thought he was fine.

Then—

BOOM.

He flew. CRASH.

The world spun. His back hit the ground hard.

The class went silent.

Luc groaned. What the hell?!

Zara tilted her head. "Your energy's weak. Keep up, rookie."

Luc sighed. It was going to be a long year.
