She had left Andrew's, but the heaviness hadn't left her. She hadn't expected that her marriage would become this way .The silence was deafening.. Grace stood in the middle of the hotel room. Her heart is filled with the hurt of betrayer of her husband.
But it wasn't just his betrayal. It was the feeling of him having the heart to ask her to accept Sarah as a co wife. Never she said to herself.
The clock on the wall ticked relentlessly. Her phone buzzed. Grace stared at the screen. The name on the display made her stomach twist. Sarah.
For a moment, she hesitated. Part of her didn't want to answer. Part of her wanted to throw the phone across the room and pretend this whole mess wasn't happening. But instead, she clicked on the message.
We need to talk. It's about Andrew.
Grace's chest tightened. She hadn't expected Sarah to reach out. After everything that had happened, after the way Sarah had stood there so calmly, so poised, as if this was all a normal conversation—Grace had never thought she'd hear from her again.
But she couldn't ignore the message. Not now.
She typed a quick response, trying to sound calm, even though she was anything but.
"What is it? " Grace reply
A few seconds passed before Sarah's reply came through.
It's not about him. It's about us. Please, Grace. I never wanted this to happen. But I do need you to understand.
Grace read the words over and over, as if trying to make sense of them. Us. The thought of it left a bitter taste in her mouth. How could Sarah—her friend, her confidante, the woman she had trusted—be part of this twisted web? How could she be here now, trying to justify it all, as if they could just pick up the pieces and move on?
Her fingers hovered over the keyboard, but her mind was clouded with anger, with hurt. The friend she had thought she knew, the woman she had trusted, was now the very person that had helped tear her world apart.
Still, Grace felt a twinge of curiosity. She wanted answers. She needed to hear what Sarah had to say, even if it meant facing the reality of her own brokenness.
She typed back, her words slow and deliberate, tinged with the bitterness she could no longer hide.
"What do you want from me, Sarah? What's left to say?"
There was a long pause before Sarah responded.
I never wanted to hurt you. I don't expect you to understand, but I need you to know that I never meant for this to happen like this. I've always cared about you, Grace. I thought maybe... maybe we could both be part of Andrew's life. I thought...
Grace's heart hammered in her chest as the words on the screen began to blur. She couldn't read them fast enough, couldn't process the rush of emotions that flooded her as Sarah's message sunk in. Sarah was asking her to share Andrew. She was asking her to accept a life that had been twisted and distorted beyond recognition.
"You want me to share him with you?" Grace typed, the words a painful stab.
"I don't want to hurt you, Sarah repeated, But t couldn't help falling in love with him. I love him as much as you do. I know that you are hurting but try and understand me. Let's both be part of his life"
Grace felt the sting of her own tears beginning to gather, but she wouldn't let them fall. Not now. Not for Sarah. Not for anyone. The woman who had been her friend, the woman she had once laughed with, confided in, and trusted, was now asking her to accept the unthinkable.
It was like the final blow. The last shred of what she had once believed in had been shattered.
"You're shameless"
Grace stared at her phone, watching the dots flash as Sarah typed again but she didn't wait for the message. She didn't need to. She block her.
"How can Sarah be this shameless? How didn't she notice that she's in love with Andrew " Grace said. She doesn't really cared about Sarah but Andrew and if he would still insisting on marry her. Whatever all she knows is that she will never be Numbered as a wife.
