Fin Sato, a burnt-out Tokyo salaryman, thought his glory days as a beta-tester for the MMORPG Ram Online were long behind him. But when his annoyingly cheerful coworker Ren Hayashi—a secret online megastar—dies in his arms after a brutal alley ambush, Fin’s mundane life is shattered. Ren’s cryptic last words leave Fin with two things: the login to the most powerful avatar in the game and a mystery that blurs the lines between virtual worlds and real-life danger.
As Fin steps into Ren’s digital persona, he must dodge relentless fans, uncover hidden conspiracies, and outmaneuver deadly rivals both online and off. But the deeper he digs, the more he realizes that Ren’s death was no accident—and his own forgotten past may hold the key to a legacy that could reshape reality itself.
With razor-sharp wit and gripping twists, Ctrl+Alt+Legacy is a darkly comedic cyberpunk thriller that dives into the chaos of corporate drudgery, streaming culture, and the haunting allure of a digital world where every move could be your last.
I came to find copper but I found a worthy gem! This thing is very close to being perfect. It's a solid novel with a lot of potential, definitely worth the read.
