The air in the basement room was heavy. Emma looked again at the documents pinned to the wall. Among them was a journal page marked with red pen. At the top of the page, there was a single word written:
"One of the keys is missing."
Emma turned to Sheila:
— What does this mean?
Sheila took a deep breath:
— The Sentinel organization stores crucial information in a coded manner. Your mother once stole one of their most important documents. But to unlock it, three different keys are required. One is in the organization's hands, one was with your mother… and one is missing.
Richard, carefully examining the documents, added:
— So, if we find this key, we can learn everything?
Sheila nodded:
— That's right. But the Sentinel is also searching for this key.
Emma clenched her fists:
— So, we need to move faster than them.
Victoria, silently scanning the documents, murmured:
— Where can we find this key?
Sheila hesitated for a moment before pulling a piece of paper from her pocket. There was a hand-drawn map on it. She handed it to Emma.
— Your mother once gave me this map. She said that if I ever disappeared and was in danger, this would help me.
Emma unfolded the paper. The map led them to a mountainous area far from the city. One spot was circled with special markings.
