The System Status

As I stepped out of the Demon King's castle, my mind was already racing. Where could Heaven's Wing be?

He wasn't the type to linger where others could find him easily. If he was preparing for something—or avoiding something—he would be in a place no ordinary being could reach.

I took a deep breath and activated Void Step. Instantly, the world around me blurred, and I surged forward at unimaginable speed. The ground beneath me disappeared in an instant, replaced by flickering shadows as I traveled across the vast Demon Realm.

One step. Towns and villages became distant memories.

Two steps. Mountains crumbled into the horizon.

Three steps. The very air around me trembled.

I came to a halt at the edge of a ruined battlefield—a desolate wasteland filled with shattered weapons, decayed corpses, and the lingering echoes of past wars. It was a forgotten place, one where time itself seemed to stand still.

A smirk played on my lips. "If there's anywhere Heaven's Wing would be, it's a place no one dares to tread."

I closed my eyes for a brief moment, sharpening my senses. The energy here… it's faint, but it's not gone. Someone—no, something—was still lingering in this wasteland.

I opened my eyes, my gaze locked onto the farthest reaches of the battlefield. "Heaven's Wing, I know you're here. Show yourself."

The wind howled through the broken landscape. A faint ripple in the air. A presence, powerful yet restrained.

Then—

A voice, deep and unwavering, echoed through the wasteland.

"It took you long enough, Heavenly Demon."

I turned my head, a grin forming as I saw him. Heaven's Wing, standing atop a ruined pillar, his arms crossed, his golden eyes burning with anticipation.

"You found me. Now, what do you want?"

Heaven's Wing stood there, arms crossed, his golden eyes glowing under the eerie light of the battlefield. His expression darkened as I finished explaining the situation.

"Heavenly Demon, if what you're saying is true, then I'm in," he said without hesitation. "I won't let that bastard wield the power that was meant for us. The gods chose us for a reason. Baron has no right to it."

I smirked, sensing the familiar fire in his voice. "That's the Heaven's Wing I know."

Then, curiosity struck me, and I tilted my head slightly. "But before we go and obliterate that bastard, tell me something—how the hell did you get here? We've known each other since our first life when we were just students. I was reborn as Samuel Gebb in this world, but what about you?"

He sighed, rubbing the back of his neck. "Yeah, it's been a long journey. We started as best friends, then rivals, and now… here we are again." He let out a small chuckle before his expression turned serious. "I was reincarnated into a short story—one of those depressing ones on YouTube. You might've heard of it: 'CEO Wife Katerina Cheats on Her Husband Henry.'"

My smirk widened. "No way. That one?"

He nodded, shaking his head in exasperation. "Yeah. Henry, the guy who got betrayed, changed his identity to Liberty and disappeared from Katerina's life. That story was a complete tragedy—pure suffering. And somehow, I ended up as Henry, forced to live through all of it."

I whistled lowly. "Damn. That's rough. But it makes sense now. You must've merged with the original Henry, just like I did with Samuel Gebb."

Heaven's Wing exhaled sharply. "Yeah, I did. At first, I didn't even want to. I was just trying to survive, but… when the memories came back, I had no choice. I became Henry. Just like you became Samuel."

I folded my arms, letting that sink in. "So here we are. Two warriors, thrown into miserable stories, now standing at the top of the Demon Realm, about to face one of our greatest enemies."

Heaven's Wing smirked, cracking his knuckles. "And you know what? I wouldn't have it any other way."

I grinned back, feeling the old rivalry between us spark again. "Then let's do what we do best—destroy anything in our way."

We stood there for a moment, the air between us heavy with anticipation. Two warriors, once human, now legends, ready to take on the ultimate battle.

The world would soon remember why the gods chose us.

Heaven's Wing and I stood under the darkened sky, the wind howling around us as if the world itself was anticipating what was coming next. The weight of our pasts, the battles we fought, and the futures we carried sat heavy on our shoulders. But at this moment, it didn't matter.

"You also have the system, right?" I asked, my emerald eyes locking onto his.

He scoffed, crossing his arms. "Of course I do. What, you thought the gods would reincarnate me without a cheat code?"

I smirked. "Alright then, let's see each other's stats."

With a flick of his wrist, his status screen appeared, glowing brightly in the darkness.

Heaven's Wing glanced over my stats, nodding in approval. "Damn. We've come a long way from being two nobodies in our first lives."

I cracked my neck, feeling the energy humming beneath my skin. "Yeah. And now, we're about to take on someone wielding both our past powers."

He scoffed. "That bastard Baron thinks he can handle both the Heavenly Demon and the Divine Executioner?" His grin turned sharp. "He's got another thing coming."

I met his gaze, the mutual understanding unspoken but clear. This was bigger than revenge. Bigger than power. This was about reclaiming what was ours.

I extended a fist toward him. "Together, like old times?"

Heaven's Wing smirked, bumping his fist against mine. "Like old times."

As the air crackled with anticipation, we both knew one thing—Baron had no idea what was coming for him.
