Activating Quest 2

I exhaled sharply, feeling the weight of exhaustion in my limbs. The monstrous Titan Bat lay motionless, its massive body sprawled across the blood-soaked ground. The battle had been brutal—perhaps one of the most intense fights we had faced in this realm.

Henry stood beside me, his armor cracked, his knuckles bruised, but his spirit was as unyielding as ever. In his hand, the Titan's Heart pulsed with dark energy, a symbol of his triumph. Meanwhile, I flexed my fingers inside my newly acquired Gauntlets of Abyss. They were heavier than I expected, their dark metal seemingly absorbing the very light around us. A smirk crept onto my lips.

I turned to Henry, tilting my head slightly. "Well, looks like we're still standing."

He let out a breathless chuckle, rolling his shoulders. "Barely. That thing put up one hell of a fight."

I raised my fists, letting the power of the gauntlets flow through me. "Worth it, though. These gauntlets feel alive."

Henry examined the Titan's Heart in his palm, its eerie glow reflecting in his eyes. "And this thing… I can feel it strengthening me just by holding it."

I let out a satisfied sigh, stretching my arms. "Not bad for a couple of guys who reincarnated into trashy romance novels, huh?"

Henry laughed, shaking his head. "Seriously. I still can't believe this is our life now."

I grinned. "At least we're not the simps written in those stories."

Henry clenched his new power in his hand and smirked. "Damn right. And now, we're strong enough to remind Baron why we were chosen by the gods in the first place."

I smirked. "Good, because we still have two more tasks ahead of us."

Henry pulled up his Status Window, and I did the same.

Henry rolled his shoulders, testing his newfound resilience. "Alright, I think we're finally warmed up."

I chuckled, cracking my knuckles as I glanced at the system notifications again. "We've still got two tasks left. Which one are we doing next?"

Henry smirked, his golden eyes glinting. "You already know the answer. Let's burn Baron's hideout to the ground."

I grinned. "Good. I was hoping you'd say that."

With that, we stepped forward, our bodies already healing from the last fight, our weapons glowing with power. The war wasn't over yet. In fact, it was just getting started.

[New Quest Activated: Baron's Secret Hideout]

Henry wiped the sweat and blood off his face, glancing at me with a tired smirk. "Guess we're not catching a break, huh?"

I exhaled sharply, stretching my neck until it cracked. "Did we ever expect one?"

He chuckled. "Fair point." Then his expression grew serious. "This Baron bastard… If he really has our past lives' power, we need to take him out before he grows even stronger."

I nodded, my gaze dark. "Yeah. And destroying his stronghold will be our first move."

Henry pulled out his system interface, scanning for the location. "Alright, looks like this hideout isn't too far. System's picking up an underground structure about twenty miles west of here. Hidden beneath a ruined fortress."

I rolled my shoulders, feeling the weight of battle still pressing on me. "Then let's not waste time."

Henry grinned. "Race you there?"

I smirked. "You'll lose."

And with that, we both activated Void Step, vanishing into the darkness as we moved toward our next battle.

As we walked through the desolate wasteland, our bodies still aching from the brutal gauntlet of demonic bats, Henry let out a deep sigh.

"Man, that last one was a pain in the ass," he muttered, rolling his shoulders. "I swear, that thing had Titan written all over it. My arms are still numb from blocking its damn strikes."

I smirked, cracking my neck. "Yeah, well, at least we got something out of it. That Night Vision upgrade? Definitely going to come in handy."

Henry scoffed, adjusting the straps on his armor. "Yeah, assuming we live long enough to use it. And now we're straight into Baron's secret hideout mission? No time to breathe, huh?"

I let out a low chuckle. "No rest for the wicked, my friend. Baron's been making moves in the shadows for too long. If he's got strongholds hidden away, we need to take them out before things get worse."

Henry exhaled sharply. "Right. So, what do we know about this place? You think it'll be another one of those underground fortress setups?"

I shook my head. "Nah. According to the system's intel, this one's more of a mobile base—like a war camp. Constantly shifting locations to keep hidden."

Henry frowned. "Great. That means tracking it down is going to be a pain in the ass."

"Not necessarily," I said, a confident smirk playing on my lips. "If they're moving, that means there has to be a pattern. Supply routes, resting points, places where they regroup. We just need to find the trail and follow it."

Henry smirked back. "Damn, sometimes I forget you're actually smart. Fine. Let's figure out where these bastards are hiding and burn the place to the ground."

I nodded, my green eyes glinting with excitement. "Now you're talking. Let's hunt."
