The Monstrous Humanoids

(Samuel's POV)

The ground shook violently beneath us, cracks splitting across the battlefield.

A deep, inhuman growl rumbled from the shadows of the facility, and then—they emerged.

Three towering monstrosities, standing nearly fifteen feet tall, their bodies a grotesque fusion of muscle, metal, and raw demonic energy.

The Monstrous Humanoids.

Once humans, now abominations.

Their skin was torn and stitched, black veins glowing underneath as their bodies pulsed with unstable power.

One had spikes protruding from its back, its arms mutated into jagged blades.

Another had four arms, each one covered in obsidian-like armor, its eyes burning with pure hatred.

The last one had a half-shattered mask, revealing part of a face that once belonged to a human.

I clicked my tongue, smirking. "So, they were experimenting on humans this way, huh?"

Henry rested his Divine Executioner Sword on his shoulder, his golden eyes narrowing. "Disgusting. They turned people into mindless weapons."

The spiked humanoid let out a horrific roar, its voice distorted, filled with agony and rage.

"KiLl… Me…!!"

I frowned. "Shit. They still have a fragment of consciousness left."

Henry's jaw clenched. "Then let's put them out of their misery."

The creatures didn't wait.

They charged.

---

The first Humanoid, the one with blade arms, lunged at me with terrifying speed.

SLASH!

Its arms cut through the air, aiming to bisect me.

I dodged, my body shifting to the side, then—

"BREATH OF DESTRUCTION!"

A wave of black flames erupted from my mouth, engulfing the creature's upper body.

It screamed, staggering back as its flesh burned.

But it didn't die.

Its body regenerated almost instantly, the flames barely slowing it down.

I clicked my tongue. "Tch. Tough bastard."

Then, I felt it.

The four-armed Humanoid was above me, its massive fists descending like a meteor.

I barely managed to Void Step out of the way before the ground exploded from the impact.

The force sent shockwaves, cracking the steel beneath us.

I landed on my feet, smirking. "Alright, you wanna play rough?"

---

Henry's Side – The Masked Humanoid

While I was dealing with those two, Henry had his own opponent.

The masked Humanoid—the biggest of the three—stood still, its head slightly tilted, as if analyzing him.

Then—

It moved.

Fast.

One moment, it was standing still—

The next, it was in front of Henry, swinging a massive fist.

Henry blinked out of the way just in time.

BOOM!

The punch cratered the ground where he had been standing.

Henry landed a few feet away, gripping his sword tightly. "Damn, you're quick for a big guy."

The Humanoid let out a deep, raspy breath, then spoke in a voice filled with agony.

"W-who… am… I…?"

Henry's grip tightened. "They erased you."

The creature twitched, as if the words caused pain.

Then, with blinding speed, it attacked again.

Henry blocked, his sword clashing against the monster's thick, mutated arm.

Sparks flew as Henry pushed back, his muscles straining from the sheer force.

"Tch. You're strong."

The Humanoid let out a distorted laugh, before swinging again—but this time, Henry was ready.

"JUDGMENT'S WRATH!"

A wave of golden flames erupted from his blade, slamming into the creature's chest.

The masked Humanoid was sent flying back, its body skidding across the ground, leaving a trail of molten steel.

But it got up.

Its half-shattered mask cracked even more, revealing a glimpse of what used to be a human face.

Its lips trembled, and it whispered…

"H…Hen…ry…?"

Henry froze.

His eyes widened slightly. "What…?"

Then, suddenly—it screamed.

Its body convulsed, as if it was fighting something inside itself.

Then, it charged again.

Henry gritted his teeth. "Damn it. No holding back, then!"

Samuel vs. The Two Humanoids

Meanwhile, I was handling the blade-armed freak and its four-armed friend.

The blade-armed Humanoid lunged again, moving faster than before.

I smirked, activating Void Step, appearing behind it.

"GAUNTLETS OF ABYSS!"

I clenched my fists, activating my dark energy-infused gauntlets, and then—

"TAKE THIS!"

I punched straight through its chest.

The creature roared, black blood spraying everywhere—but even then, it tried to slice me.

I ripped my arm out, then kicked it in the face, sending it flying into the air.

The four-armed Humanoid took this chance to attack from behind.

I turned—only to see all four of its massive fists coming straight at me.

I barely managed to cross my arms, blocking the attack.

But the force was insane.

BOOM!

The impact sent me crashing through a metal wall.

I groaned, rolling my shoulders. "Alright, now I'm pissed."

I stepped out, my black flames flickering violently around me.

The four-armed Humanoid charged again, roaring.

I smirked, slamming my fists together.

"Let's see you survive this one."

I vanished.

Using Void Step, I appeared above it, then—

"BREATH OF DESTRUCTION!!"

A massive wave of hellfire engulfed the monster, incinerating its entire body.

It let out one final scream, before its form disintegrated into nothing.

One down.

Henry's Final Strike

Meanwhile, Henry was still fighting the masked Humanoid.

It was fast, unpredictable, and even though it was injured, it fought like a warrior.

But Henry was done playing.

He blinked behind it, his sword glowing with divine energy.

The creature turned, its one visible eye filled with pain.

It whispered again. "Hen…ry…?"

Henry didn't hesitate.

"Rest in peace."

"HOLY ANNIHILATION!"

A blinding wave of golden destruction erupted from his blade, completely erasing the Humanoid in a single slash.

The battlefield fell silent.

Henry exhaled, gripping his sword tightly. "Damn bastards… who the hell were they?"

I walked over, cracking my neck. "Whoever they were… they're gone now."

Henry glanced at the pile of ash that remained from the masked one.

For a brief moment, I saw something in his expression—hesitation.

But then, he sighed, shaking his head. "Let's move."

I smirked. "Yeah. These were just small fries."

I pointed at the massive fortress ahead.

"The real fight is waiting for us inside."

And with that, we stepped forward—

Into the belly of the beast.
