ch - 6 Cyrus his happy end?

For a few seconds Tobias lets go of Cyrus' arm. Those few second where enough for Cyrus. Tobias felt a pang of panic as he realized what was happening. "Cyrus, dont please... just dont!" he shouted, lunging forward to try and grab hold of him as he ran towards the balcony ledge. But he was too slow, and Cyrus was already leaning over the edge, the wind whipping his hair around his face.

Time felt like it was moving in slow motion as Tobias sprinted forward, his heart pounding in his chest. "No, no, no!" he shouted, his stomach clenching in horror. But he was too far away, too far to safe him.

He heard Kace behind him, laughing maniacally. "Looks like you failed, knight," he said, his voice shrill and mocking. But Tobias didn't pay attention to him, his focus solely on Cyrus.

Cyrus right there and then leaned back further. Eventually falling down. For a moment the world seemed to stop as Cyrus fell, his body tumbling through the air, the wind whipping around him. Tobias watched in horror, his heart in his throat, as he tried to reach out to him, but it was No use. He was too far gone, the ground rushing up to meet him.

In that split second, it was like the world came crashing down around Tobias. He felt a sharp, crushing pain in his chest as if his heart was being ripped out. He couldn't breathe, he couldn't move, he couldn't think. All he could do was watch as the person he cared about more than anything in the world, the person he had failed to protect, hit the Ground.

A sickening thump, echoing in his ears. The world came rushing back to him then, the sound of Kace's laugh ringing in his ears. "Looks like you failed your mission, knight," he said, his voice cold and cruel.

Tobias felt like he was going to be sick. The world was suddenly too bright, too noisy, too much. He couldn't believe what had just happened, couldn't believe that he had failed to save the person he loved. He stumbled back, his legs feeling like they were made of jelly.

He was shaking uncontrollably, his eyes fixed on the horrific sight in front of him. Kace walked up next to him, a smug expression on his face. "What a shame, huh?" he jeered, his voice sickeningly sweet. "Looks like you couldn't save your precious prince after all."

Tobias wanted to lash out, to rip Kace apart limb from limb, but he was too numb; too full of disbelief and grief. "Why?" he whispered, his voice cracking as he spoke. "Why?" Kace repeated, looking surprised. "Why do you think, Knight? Because he was a burden, a liability. He had to go."

"He was your brother!" Tobias protested, his voice thick with emotion. "How could you do something like that to your own flesh and blood?"

"Flesh and blood means nothing when it comes to the throne," Kace said, his eyes cold and empty, his only showing one thing; greed. "Cyrus was in the way. And he had to be removed. It's just a shame you couldn't do it yourself."
