Chapter 40: Monster Fight

Ryo, Selena, Seyra, and Ai stood before the ancient teleportation monument, its engraved runes pulsing with mystical light. This was the safest and fastest way to travel to the land Ryo would govern. Unlike his personal teleportation magic, which required familiarity with the destination, the monument allowed instant travel to marked locations. With a nod from Ryo, they activated the monument, vanishing in a brilliant flash of light.

The group reappeared in the heart of an untamed wilderness. Before them stretched a vast open field, bordered by dense forest, with a river flowing through it. The water shimmered under the sunlight, pure and untouched by civilization.

Ai took a deep breath, a smile gracing her lips. "This place is beautiful. The air is so fresh."

Before anyone could respond, Ryo's expression darkened as he activated Enemy Detection. His sharp gaze scanned the treeline, sensing the presence of multiple creatures lurking within the shadows.

"We're not alone," he stated, his voice calm yet firm.

Selena and Seyra tensed, their hands instinctively moving towards their weapons.

"There are monsters in the forest," Ryo continued. "I could eliminate them all, but if I do, it might disturb the balance of the ecosystem."

Seyra nodded. "That's true. Some creatures play vital roles in nature. We should only remove the dangerous ones."

Ryo smirked. "In that case, let's hunt."

A deep growl echoed through the forest, followed by the rustling of leaves. Then, without warning, a pack of Dire Wolves lunged from the foliage, their glowing red eyes filled with primal hunger.

Ryo reacted instantly, vanishing from his spot and reappearing mid-air. Blood Weaponry activated, forming crimson blades in his hands. With a single slash, he cut down two wolves before landing gracefully.

Seyra, channeling her Dragon Magic, conjured a massive fireball. With a flick of her wrist, it exploded, sending flames roaring through the battlefield. The wolves howled as the intense heat forced them back, their charred bodies collapsing lifelessly.

Selena, using her Hemokinesis, manipulated her own blood into razor-sharp projectiles. They shot forward, piercing through the thick hides of several wolves, leaving them motionless on the ground.

Ai, not wanting to be left behind, used an artifact to cast Wind Blades. The razor-sharp gusts cut through the trees, slicing through any monsters in their path. Though her magic wasn't as destructive as the others, it was precise and effective.

The battle was fierce but brief. As the last wolf fell, Ryo scanned the surroundings once more. "That should be enough," he declared. "I left a few that aren't hostile."

Selena sheathed her weapon. "Now that we've secured the area, we should set up a proper defense. Is there a barrier that repels monsters?"

Seyra nodded. "Yes, many kingdoms use such barriers to protect their people."

Ryo crossed his arms. "The system actually gave me one as a reward. It prevents any hostile beings or individuals with ill intentions from entering."

Selena clapped her hands together. "Perfect! That will make things easier."

With the immediate threats handled, they turned their focus to the future. "We should start by building a castle," Selena suggested. "It will serve as the heart of our nation, and from there, we can establish the rest of the city's layout."

Ryo chuckled. "I already have a plan for that."

Seyra raised an eyebrow. "Oh? You've thought that far ahead?"

He smirked. "Back in the human world, I played a game where I designed and built entire kingdoms. I've already visualized how I want everything to be."

That night, Ryo worked tirelessly in his room, sketching out detailed blueprints for the kingdom and its castle. Using his memories from his past life, he meticulously designed a grand capital with well-planned roads, defenses, and essential structures. By the time the sun rose, his plans were complete. His nation's foundation was set, and soon, it would become a reality.
