Chapter 50: Alliance

Ryo stirred awake as a loud scream rang through his room.

"Ryoooooo! Not again!"

He barely opened his eyes when he felt a familiar sensation on his lips. His instincts kicked in, and he jumped back off the bed, landing on his feet.

"What is your problem?!" he exclaimed, rubbing his lips. "Can't you just come in normally?"

The Demon Princess smirked. "I just came by to ask about your answer."

Ryo sighed, pinching the bridge of his nose. "We'll talk about it later this afternoon."

She pouted but nodded before disappearing from the room. Meanwhile, Selena, Seyra, and Ai stood by the door, sighing in exasperation.

After that chaotic start to his morning, Ryo sat down for breakfast with his parents. The meal was peaceful until his younger sister suddenly asked, "When are you going to give me a niece or nephew?"

Ryo choked on his tea, coughing violently. "W-What are you asking?!"

His sister grinned. "I saw a bunch of kids in our old neighborhood, and it got me thinking."

Desperate to change the topic, Ryo quickly said, "Why don't I take you to see our new home tomorrow?"

Her eyes sparkled with excitement. "Our new home?"

"Yeah," he nodded, relieved. "Our new home."

The conversation shifted, much to his relief, and soon after, he headed to an important meeting with the Demon Lord. The Demon Princess was also present, standing proudly by her father's side.

"I agree to the alliance," Ryo stated firmly after discussing the terms.

The Demon Princess grinned. "As well as our marriage, right?"

Ryo sighed before simply nodding. There was no escaping it at this point.

The Demon Lord chuckled. "I'm pleased to hear that. As a token of this alliance, I will also grant you land connecting our territories."

Ryo raised a brow. "Are you sure about that?"

The Demon Lord nodded. "Of course. The others have already offered you land to form a nation. I will grant you an equal amount to expand your kingdom. Now, you will have more space to build towns or anything else you desire."

Ryo was silent for a moment, digesting the implications of this decision. With this, his kingdom was now 98% complete.

As he left the meeting, he exhaled heavily. "So much for having a say in things..."
