The man continued arranging the bags when a woman, slightly overweight, approached holding bread and soup, looking as if she was calling out to the man. He walked closer to her and said, "So, have you prepared the food?"
The woman replied cheerfully, "I assure you, it will be the best meal they've ever tasted."
"Really? How many are there?" she asked, "I usually prepare enough for five."
"There are three," the man replied, "The couple and their child."
"Ah, I see," she said. "They're just like us."
The husband responded with some sadness, "No, they are in a completely different place."
The woman didn't understand her husband and wasn't concerned. She walked ahead to knock on the door, and Lana opened it. The two women spoke briefly, and Lana welcomed the woman inside.
As soon as the family tasted the food, they were amazed.
Aurelius commented, "Madam, you're a wonderful cook, and kind-hearted. I truly like you."
The woman laughed and said, "You're too kind, my dear."
She turned to her husband, "Darling, what do you think about introducing him to Vitus? They're probably the same age."
The father replied, "I don't think Aurelius would want to be friends with Vitus."
The mother, puzzled, asked, "Why do you say that?"
The father angrily responded, "He's big, ugly, and dumb."
The mother, upset, said, "What are you talking about? You're talking about our son, in case you've forgotten."
Aurelius interrupted the conversation and said, "I want friends. Where's Vitus? He seems like a nice person, just like you two."
The man turned away without answering.
The woman smiled and said, "Of course, my dear. You two will be great friends."
"Come visit us tomorrow for lunch. We'd be honored. For now, we'll leave you to rest."
The family bid the couple farewell, and then Lana said, "Mike, I think the man is harsh on his son."
Mike replied, "Dear, we shouldn't interfere in things that don't concern us."
Meanwhile, Aurelius went upstairs to his room, watching the couple closely. He knew this was Vitus's house.
