Chapter 79: Gathering the Storm

Chapter 79: Gathering the Storm

The van roared down the highway, the city lights shrinking in the distance. Their destination was clear—Langston's estate. But they couldn't go in alone. They needed firepower, strategy, and an element of surprise.

Isabella had made the call. Now, they were headed to meet the only people reckless enough to help them.

An hour later, they pulled up to an abandoned warehouse on the outskirts of town. The air was thick with the scent of oil and metal. Inside, the hum of voices echoed, boots scuffing against the concrete.

Then, the door swung open.

A group of figures emerged from the shadows battle-scarred, armed, and grinning. Old allies. Mercenaries. Survivors of Langston's past betrayals.

At the front stood Ethan Cruz, a former enforcer turned rogue. His dark eyes flicked over Isabella before a smirk tugged at his lips. "Didn't think I'd be fighting your war, sweetheart."

Isabella crossed her arms. "It's your war too. Langston didn't just come after me he burned every bridge he ever built."

Ethan let out a low chuckle. "Fair point. So, what's the play?"

Alexander stepped forward, unfolding a map of Langston's estate. "We go in hard and fast. Disable security, take out his top men, and corner him before he can escape."

Claire added, "His underground panic room is reinforced, but we can flush him out."

Damian held up his laptop. "I'll hack his communications, cut him off from his backup."

Ethan cracked his knuckles. "Sounds messy. I like it."

The next hour was spent arming up. Guns were checked. Explosives were prepped. Every person in the room knew what they were walking into.

No guarantees. No second chances.

Isabella stood by the window, staring at the distant city lights. Alexander walked up beside her.

"Are you ready for this?" he asked quietly.

She met his gaze, a fire burning in her eyes. "I've never been more ready."

He nodded. "Then let's end this."

The convoy of vehicles roared to life, dust kicking up as they sped toward Langston's estate.

Tonight, the war would end.

And only one side would walk away.
