To Hayden's surprise, just a day later after his father and butler's conversation, the physician had actually arrived.
Dr. Elias Veyra was a tall, tough-looking man, completely different from Hayden's imagination. Nonetheless, he was still wearing a physician's white garb and a pair of spectacles perched on his nose, which still made him look like a true physician.
As soon as he arrived, the manor's staff immediately cleared a path for him as he entered.
Hayden watched from a distance as his Ocularis Lens analyzed the man's movements.
"He doesn't look like a magician…" Hayden muttered to himself as he actually thought that there was a chance that this famous physician might be a Magician or at the very least, capable of using Aura.
Unfortunately, even after using his Lens, his Lens didn't find anything unusual about him aside from being a healthy man in his fifties.
Howard greeted the physician warmly, though his usual stern demeanor remained.
"Elias, it's been too long. Thank you for coming on such short notice."
Dr. Veyra smiled faintly. "Howard, you old fool. You should've called me sooner. Now, show me these patients of yours."
The two men disappeared into the east wing, where the sick had been quarantined.
Hayden lingered outside since his curiosity was piqued.
He wanted to see how the famous physician would handle the illness—and whether his methods would align with the Ocularis's diagnosis.
No, what he really wanted was to see other methods to cure the mysterious disease aside from the method suggested by his Lens.
Furthermore, he didn't even know the name of this disease, so he was really curious about this.

Hours later, Dr. Veyra emerged from the east wing, his expression thoughtful. He joined Howard and Roan in the study, where Hayden managed to eavesdrop once more.
"It's a fascinating case…" Dr. Veyra said. He seemed calm but there was a hint of concern in his voice. "The illness is caused by a disruption in the body's energy flow. This happens when people are exposed to some strong negative energy…"
The doctor's voice lowered as he looked at the Baron curiously.
"Did a Magician pass by here? Their meridians are blocked, preventing the life force from circulating properly. This weakens the body's natural defenses and causes the symptoms we're seeing."
Howard frowned as he shook his head… "I have never seen any Magician for the past seven years, Elias. If this is done by a passing Magician, it must be an accident… Can you cure it?"
Howard was certainly frustrated after learning the possible cause of the spreading disease.
However, he also knew that if a Magician had truly targeted their family, they would have plenty of other methods to quickly eliminate them. There would be no need for such an elaborate process.
Dr. Veyra nodded. "Yes, but it won't be easy. The blockages are deep, and clearing them requires a delicate touch. I'll need to prepare a special treatment—a combination of herbal remedies and energy manipulation. It will take time."
Hayden nodded as the doctor truly deserved his reputation…
The Ocularis had suggested acupuncture as the most effective treatment, but Dr. Veyra's approach was different.
Hayden didn't mind this difference at all since the knowledge that the Ocularis Lens had was mainly from his past life and required plenty of modern medicines and medical equipment.
This world had definitely developed other methods that could even be better than the ones he knew. After all, this was still a fantasy world and he wouldn't be surprised if there was some sort of Panacea Pill here.

On the next day, Dr. Veyra's treatments showed some progress.
The fever in some patients subsided, and their energy levels improved slightly.
'I wonder how did he proceed with that energy manipulation he mentioned.' Hayden thought as he wasn't able to watch the treatment.
Nonetheless, even after the patients had gotten a lot better than before, the illness persisted!
Whatever that Magician did, if they really did something, was quite evil as it wasn't easily cured at all.
Even this famous physician grew increasingly frustrated…
Problems with meridians were simply too sensitive to deal with. One mistake and he might really mess up the patient's body.
At this time, Elias knew that there were no more outside influences that could cause a relapse in his patients… It means that what the Magician left still lingers within the bodies of these people.
Elias couldn't help but frown since if he failed to cure this, there wouldn't be any other physician who could help him unless he admitted that this was beyond an ordinary human's capability and required the assistance of Magicians.
He could certainly ask for a Magician's assistance but that would cost a fortune for the Baron who wasn't really that wealthy.
Furthermore, Elias knew that the ones affected were only the servants of the Manor so it would be a lot easier to just hire new ones. He believed that this disease would not spread more than this.
They were already lucky to have been treated by him.
In any case, these people wouldn't really die even if he stopped treating them. At most, they would just become useless servants for the Manor who needed to retire early.
It would leave a bad taste in his mouth, but this was his limit as a physician.
Then, after the doctor left to take a rest, Hayden found an excuse to visit the quarantine area.
The Ocularis Lens analyzed the patients and its data showed that while the symptoms were being suppressed, the root cause—the blocked meridians—remained almost untouched.
Without addressing that, the illness would keep coming back!
"This…"
On the next day, Hayden looked at the patients and the Lens immediately warned him!
[ Current treatment methods were insufficient. The patient's condition is rapidly deteriorating. ]
[ The disease is spreading and without immediate intervention, it may become permanent. ]
Hayden clenched his fists as he weighed his situation.
