Ethan checked his wife carefully for any signs of harm. Thankfully, there were no bruises or injuries
It was the first time he felt so terrified.
He had faced many life-and-death missions before and usually felt calm, but seeing his wife fight criminals alone made his heart almost leap out of his chest.
Ethan hugged her tightly, like a precious jade, not wanting to let go. He looked at her with concern and slowly kissed her lips, showing his love and worry.
"Wife, you're so bold fighting alone." He reprimanded her.
With pleading tone he continued, "I almost had a heart attack! Please tell me next time, okay?"
Elena didn't know whether to laugh or cry. Her true nature was starting to show, and she wanted to let her husband slowly accept it.
"Husband, that's just who I am," she said, her voice steady but soft.
"I'll always do my best to stay safe, okay? But I can't promise I won't fight."
