Chapter 29: The Awakening
The sharp, shrill beeping of the monitors sliced through the tense air like a blade.
Aria barely had time to react before Alexander's body seized again, his muscles locking, his breath ragged and uneven. His golden eyes, once warm and familiar, had darkened into something unnatural—pitch black, deep as the void. A raw, guttural snarl ripped from his throat, sending a wave of primal terror down her spine.
Something else was staring back at her.
"Alexander!" Aria gasped, reaching for him, but the sheer force of his energy made her recoil. The room felt suffocating, heavy with a presence she didn't understand. Not just him. Not just his wolf. Something older. Something darker.
The door burst open, and Elias rushed inside, followed closely by the healers and pack nurses.
"What the hell is happening?" Elias demanded, skidding to a halt at the sight of Alexander's trembling form.
