Alexis quickly responded, "No one."
Keelion glanced around the room with a furrowed brow. He was sure he'd heard her speaking to someone, but then again, no one would dare step into his room, not without his permission.
"I'll only let you get away with lying once. Just once, Alexis."
Her throat dipped in a swallow. She would tell him about Sereia, but wouldn't he think she was crazy? It wasn't like there was anyway to prove she had a wolf…that Sereia existed.
"Yeah, I wouldn't suggest doing that, kid. He might possibly think you're lying to save yourself. It would be messy."
She didn't disagree.
"I asked you to come out an hour after I left, why didn't you?" Keelion asked, walking over to the sofa where he stood, taking off his knee-length coat, and tossing it on the armrest. He went for his tie, and while he took it off, Alexis stared at the back of his large frame.
"I…fell asleep."
