CHAPTER 34

The sound of heavy hand clapping sounded, yet Alexis was too deep in her sleep to blink her eyes open. 

"Kid, open your eyes." 

"Let me sleep a little bit more—" 

"ALEXIS!" 

She snapped out of her sleep, slipping off the bunk bed and falling to the floor with a heavy thud. 

"OW!" she groaned and rolled over on her back, bubbles of tears slipping off her eyes. "My forehead!" 

Lyndon blinked at her. "What the…" 

Augustus sighed and left the desk where he was seated to walk over to her. He grabbed her hand and pulled her to her feet. 

"Are you okay?" 

"Yes." She nodded, swallowing the throbbing pain on her forehead. It was definitely going to swell up. 

"Are you this easily startled?" Lyndon asked. 

She glanced at him but averted her gaze. "I was sleeping…a bit too deeply." 

"Girl, are you really okay?" 

Sereia eyed her with a concerned look.
