In the evening, the night market in front of Goldenleaf University was in full swing.
Besides the impressive duo of Jaxon and Liu Yidao, two beauties from Goldenleaf University had shown up, along with another contender for that title. This divine combination naturally drew an extraordinary amount of attention from the students.
"This barbecue stall owner is amazing; he managed to attract all three of them!" one student exclaimed, his eyes fixed on the three stunning figures in front of the stall.
"What owner? You should call him 'teacher,' you know? He's one of our school's teachers!"
"Jaxon is incredible; he's so charming. On this entire street, he has the most customers."
"In my lifetime, I actually get to witness all three of them together. I have no regrets!"
At that moment, many people gathered around Jaxon's stall, but the most captivating were Chloe, Tang Yufei, and Lily. Each one of them had their own unique charm, and when they were together, they lit up the street, drawing even more attention to the stall.
Jaxon hadn't expected all three of them to show up tonight. The three women stood in different positions with different expressions, and though there was no interaction between them, Jaxon could sense that the atmosphere among them felt somewhat unusual.
Of course, with so many customers, Jaxon didn't have much time to focus on them.
Chloe calmly observed Jaxon as he worked, seemingly indifferent to the presence of the other two. Tang Yufei wore a half-smile, her gaze flicking between Chloe and Lily while occasionally glancing at Jaxon, her smile widening as though she'd discovered something amusing.
Lily, on the other hand, looked the most awkward. She hadn't wanted to come; she had been dragged along by her two roommates. Upon seeing Chloe and Tang Yufei there, she couldn't help but glance at them. She didn't feel anything complex—she'd often heard their names at school, so encountering them here was intriguing enough to steal a few glances.
Though the three hadn't exchanged a word, their appearance together quickly became a viral sensation among several nearby schools, further boosting the popularity of Jaxon's stall. It increased recognition among students from multiple campuses.
Lily was the first to leave. She felt that something was off, though she couldn't pinpoint exactly why. The strange atmosphere made her uncomfortable, so she decided to leave.
Not long after, Chloe also turned to go. Tang Yufei looked at Jaxon and then walked briskly to catch up with Chloe.
In the blink of an eye, all three beauties were gone, leaving without a word. They had simply come for a bite, like everyone else.
Tang Yufei caught up with Chloe, and the two walked side by side in silence, as if they didn't know each other.
"He's not bad," Tang Yufei finally broke the silence.
Chloe said nothing, maintaining her pace toward the school.
"To be honest, I'm a little interested," Tang Yufei continued, unbothered. "If you don't mind, I might make a move."
Chloe paused, turning to face Tang Yufei with a slightly cold expression.
Tang Yufei remained unfazed, wearing a playful smile. "What? Are you nervous?"
"Boring," Chloe replied coolly.
"Yeah, I've been pretty bored lately," Tang Yufei mused, still smiling. "That's probably why I can't miss something so interesting."
"Do as you wish," Chloe said, her voice indifferent.
"You know, once I make a move, no man can escape," Tang Yufei boasted. "He won't be an exception."
Chloe's expression remained unchanged as she resumed walking, seemingly not hearing—or perhaps not caring about—Tang Yufei's words.
This time, Tang Yufei didn't chase after her. Instead, she stood still, her smile growing brighter.
"The change in your aura shows you care. You're just unwilling to admit it. I can't wait to see your face when I win him over. It'll be quite amusing," Tang Yufei whispered to herself.
Meanwhile, at Jaxon's stall, the departure of Chloe and the others caused the excitement to die down a little, but there were still plenty of customers. The owners of the surrounding stalls were seething with envy.
"That kid is too much. At this rate, we'll have to pack up and go home," one grumbled.
"Those guys from yesterday were useless. They couldn't even handle one person with all these people," another muttered.
"Let's find someone else. If this keeps up, can we even keep our business open?" someone else chimed in.
"Agreed. We need to get rid of him. He's stealing all our customers!"
The stalls next to Jaxon's had become nearly deserted. As Jaxon's popularity soared, their sales had plummeted day by day. Some had storefronts, but compared to Jaxon's skill, they could only watch as customers flocked to him instead.
What made matters worse was that the few people they'd sent to deal with Jaxon yesterday had failed miserably. Instead of putting Jaxon in his place, they'd been taken down themselves. That failure only served to boost Jaxon's notoriety, growing his customer base.
The neighboring stall owners were seething with frustration. Their sales were in freefall, and their plan to deal with Jaxon had backfired spectacularly.
