Chapter 7

Zoran yanked my hair, dragging me in front of Melody.

"Screw you both," I spat.

Apologize to this murderer? Not a chance in hell!

I spat a mouthful of bloody phlegm onto Melody's face, glaring at her with pure hatred. I wanted nothing more than to tear her limb from limb as payback for my son.

"Still being stubborn, huh? Don't say I didn't warn you."

Hearing those words, a sense of dread washed over me.

Then I felt a tremendous force on my head.

Zoran slammed my face hard against the ground.

My face was pressed into my son's ashes.

Tears burst from my eyes as I clenched my jaw tightly.

"Eat it! Isn't this precious powder what you wanted?"

Zoran lifted my head, grabbed a handful of ashes from the ground, and smothered my face with them.

In an instant, my son's ashes filled my nose and mouth.

My heart turned to stone.

I frantically tried to avoid it, but the two bodyguards behind me were too strong. I had nowhere to escape.

The ashes in my mouth made me nauseous.
