Chapter 4

Melody and I are both jewelry designers, but after having a child, I gradually shifted my focus to my son and never worked again.

I felt somewhat absurd.

"I'm not competing, why would I steal her drafts?"

Zoran's words chilled me to the bone.

Because of this baseless accusation, he believed his wife of over a decade was a thief.

He believed the son he had raised for seven years was a thief.

I had thought Zoran came over because he missed his son, afraid I might take him away.

Or perhaps he knew about our son's passing and came to pay his respects.

I never imagined he would come to interrogate me.

I coldly brushed off Zoran's hand that was gripping me.

"If you want to seek justice for your first love, that's your business, but you can't smear our son's name."

Zoran seemed to think I was still in denial. Furiously, he shoved his phone screen in my face.

On the screen was a video clip.

In the video, a child wearing a red devil costume sneakily entered Melody's house.

After rummaging around for a while, he stuffed a large stack of papers into his backpack, then carefully left.

This child's figure bore an 80% resemblance to my son.Looking at the figure on my phone, my heart aches.

This was the outfit my son was wearing the day he died!

He loved wearing red the most, but in the end, red covered his entire body.

As the video finished playing, Melody stepped forward and said with a pitiful, wronged expression,

"sister, I know you're unhappy with me, but you can't make a child do something like this! He's only seven years old, and you're already telling him to steal things? What will happen when he grows up?"

"Besides, after your son came to my house yesterday, my competition entry disappeared. You just saw it too. Please give it back to me quickly, and I'll let bygones be bygones."

Give it back?

I never took anything in the first place, how can I give it back?

I couldn't be bothered to argue with them anymore.

This was nothing but a show Melody had orchestrated herself, and I wasn't about to waste my time playing along with her.

"Delilah, are you really going to be so stubborn?"

Zoran's voice carried a hint of disappointment.

I let out a cold laugh. Disappointment?

Who was he to be disappointed?

"I know you're not happy with Melody, but I've already told you it was just youthful foolishness back then. Now I only see her as a sister. Why won't you listen? And to make our son steal things..."

I felt nothing but desolation in my heart. I looked up at him, my heart aching."Zoran, that's your child who called you 'father' for seven whole years. Don't you know what kind of person he is? Do you really think your son would steal something?"

Hearing my words, Zoran's eyes flickered, seeming somewhat moved.

Seeing this, Melody hastily spoke up.
