Ethan lounged in his luxurious beachside villa, staring at the sunset over the ocean. The past week had been a bloody masterpiece, and for the first time in years, he felt satisfied. He had torn through more than thirty mutant research facilities, freeing countless victims while butchering their tormentors without mercy.
His strength had increased tenfold, but that wasn't all. His Personal Verse—his own private dimension—had expanded massively, now the size of a vast metropolis. Though it still had lush forests, pristine lakes, and open plains, it was no longer just a tiny village. And in the middle of it all stood his mansion, an elegant structure fit for a king.
"Damn," Ethan muttered, staring at the vast space within his Personal Verse. "At this rate, I might end up with my own planet."
The thought amused him. But he knew he couldn't just sit around. He needed to keep growing stronger. After all, this world had Thanos and Darkseid, two monsters capable of tearing the universe apart. He had no intention of being anyone's prey.
Which meant it was time for a new challenge.
Ethan thought about it for a while, scrolling through his options. Who would be a decent fight? The Avengers? The X-Men? Justice League?
"Nah," he muttered. "Too soon for them. I need a challenge that'll really push me."
Then an idea hit him.
The Eternals.
Ancient, powerful beings created by the Celestials, each of them possessing unique abilities. Ikaris, Kingo, Sersi, Thena, Gilgamesh, Druig, Phastos, Makkari, Sprite, Ajak—they were practically demigods in their own right. Fighting them would be a perfect test of his current strength.
A slow grin spread across his face. "Yeah... that sounds fun."
But just as he was about to start planning his approach, something inside him shifted. His Sign-In System activated, and a flood of warm, golden energy surged through his body.
[New Ability Acquired: Portal]
Ethan's eyes widened. "Portal? What kind of—"
Suddenly, his instincts screamed, and a rift in reality opened up before him. Swirling, endless, chaotic energy churned inside, radiating power unlike anything he had ever felt. It wasn't just a teleportation portal.
It was a Multiversal Portal.
Ethan stared, realization hitting him like a freight train. He could travel to different universes now.
His heart pounded. This changed everything.
He slowly approached the portal, feeling the immense pull of the unknown beyond it. "So... I can leave this world? Go anywhere? Do anything?"
For a long moment, he hesitated. He had spent all this time growing stronger in this universe. But now, he had the chance to see everything. To test himself against threats beyond Marvel and DC.
Ethan smirked. "Well, only one way to find out."
Without another thought, he stepped into the portal, his body dissolving into light. The swirling energy engulfed him, and in an instant, he was gone.
The villa was left empty, the waves crashing against the shore.
And nobody knew where Ethan had just disappeared to.
