After obtaining the orb, he returned to the cave where he was temporarily residing.
Taking out the glass orb from his space pocket, he stared at it, then sat cross-legged and began the process of absorbing it. This glass orb was, in essence, an Origin Core.
After three days, he had finally fully absorbed the Origin Core he had obtained from the king.
"Hmm, this increased my power by about 10%. That's a solid boost."
"This is actually very good. Let's search for the other cores. That man named Ryu Jand is missing, so I can't find him for now. I should go to the City of Wisdom to get the legendary artifact stored within the Wisdom Library."
After contemplating for a moment, he decided to head toward the City of Wisdom.
The city was about 3,000 km away, and it wouldn't take him long to get there. Deciding to fly in a straight line, he streaked across the sky like a golden ray, dazzling like a star in broad daylight.
After about four hours, he finally reached the city. But what he saw was a nightmare for its people. The City of Wisdom was under attack.
The main gate had been breached, and the war had likely started about three days ago—he could tell from the lingering aura of death in the air.
Broken bones, piles of corpses, and the cries of suffering filled the streets. Some people rejoiced, believing they had won, while others begged soldiers to save their families. But war was merciless—men were hanged on wooden poles, impaled from below, their bodies grotesquely displayed. Women screamed in despair as they were taken by the invaders. It was a gruesome, sickening sight.
Yet, he felt nothing.
He had done far worse to the eleven gods.
"My plan was to sneak into the city and steal the artifact, but now I have a better idea. Since the city is already being destroyed, I might as well kill everyone and just take the artifact."
"A simple plan, but effective. It saves time."
Leaping into the air, he ascended beyond the clouds and into the planet's atmospheric layer, gazing down at the city.
Then, he spoke a single phrase:
"Rainfall."
Thousands of blades made of compressed air began falling like a storm upon the city, leaving only one area intact—the Wisdom Library.
Within moments, every citizen, soldier, and invader perished, their bodies shredded by the deadly rain. Even the mighty Wisdom Tower crumbled into ruins in an instant.
Azrael frowned.
His plan wasn't just to annihilate everything in his path; he wanted to attract the attention of this world's god. Every world had one—some strong, some weak—but every world had a deity. His own world had twelve gods, including himself.
But now, even after destroying an entire city, no god had come.
Growing frustrated, he waited for a week.
No one appeared.
Finally, he decided to take the Origin Core from the Wisdom Library and return to his cave to absorb it.
