Kai directly appeared behind the shaman in the air with his back to the wall foore momentum. This time, Kai was determined not to give the ugly thing another chance to live and counterattack. Kai summoned out practically all of the mana in his body at once and directly used his most piwerful close range skill, Vortex Blade.
Vortex Blade's effect is to summon a highly compressed spacial tear in reality, like a controlled black hole around whatever Kai coated it with. The skill was incredibly powerful if the user slashed the tear outward in an anime style blade slash, even if only someone's finger was coated by the tear in the fabric of space. The real power of the skill though was in directly slashing the opponent to death with just the compressed spacial tear around the weapon instead of shooting it out as a blade wave. Anything struck by a weapon coated in this skill was usually instantly disintegrated. The problem of the skill was also obvious. What kind of retarded mage jumps into a melee with a skill coated weapon? This usually mid range or last ditch skill directly turned into a viable amazing attack option in Kai's hands.
Swish
This time, that level forty goblin shaman was directly decapitated by Kai's terrifying power. This world did have some game like functions, but at the end of the day there was no health point bar, and decapitation on bosses was usually a perfectly viable strategy, provided that one could get close enough to a boss monster without dying instantly. After all, what was true for humanoid boss monsters was also true for humans. The boss's terrifying strength could one hit even a much higher level awakener if they got a lucky blow on their head. Of course, it was harder and harder to kill someone the higher level they are. If someone's physique attribute was so eye that you couldn't even pierce their eyeball with your steel blade, that was your problem.
That was why spacial mages were so terrifying. Directly passing something's physique attribute to directly tear a hole in their body with the power to distort space was horrifying. The only weaknesses of spacial mages were the fact that they were all inefficient with their mana and their bodies would hardly improve as they leveled up. These weaknesses were entirely negated by Kai's talent and second druid class.
Kai watched as two people ran up past the shaman corpse and hurredly began working on a teleportation formation. Dungeon clearing felt easy now, but Kai clearly realized how horrifying the money going into his level up escapade was. The money for hiring people, the money for finding usable dungeons that haven't been cleared, the money for his gear and skills, and a comprehensive plan that had been drilled into him by Sheila's family confidants. Kai felt somewhat overwhelmed at the rate these folk were wasting money.
Kai noticed that the boss corpse had finally turned into a golden treasure chest. Sheila was the one to open it naturally. Before long, she smiled in a bright and dazzling manner. Sometimes her instant shifts made Kai swear that she was bipolar. Not that he'd ever say that out loud.
"Kai! We got the last skill book. All we need is to kick your butt into the dungeon now!"
Before Kai could ask more about what she meant, Sheila tossed him a skill book, and he almost instinctively crushed it with his hand and felt the knowledge flow into his head.
"Continuous mana shield?"
At first, Kai didn't understand what was happening, but soon he realized the horror of this seemingly basic mage skill. Before Kai could try to verify his guess, his rich little piggy bank directly confirmed what the skill did.
"That's no ordinary mana shield, mind you. That one has no cooldown on use, and it won't break unless someone exerts enough power onto it to directly overpower all of the mana in your body. It's one of the best general mage skill books available and it's why we bought and own this dungeon directly."
Kai really wanted to be impressed with this amazing feat of owning the exclusive rights to drop such a skill, but Kai saw her smug look and then just turned to the teleportation platform.
"I won't waste the investment. Let's go Sheila. It's better for me to enter the Primordial Forest dungeon sooner so that I have a better chance of making it back with the elixir of True Vitality."
Sheila looked at his back and turned to one of the female awakeners next to her. This one was a Life Guardian knight, which was a rare profession that made her particularly suitable to be a protector for Sheila, and allowed the two of them to become very close.
"What do you think? He's gay, right?"
The guardian knight seemed to think seriously for a moment before speaking up.
"Definitely. If the miss really wants to pursue this guy, you might have to take some extreme measures."
Kai was unfortunately still within earshot of the two. He turned back and playfully flipped a bird at the knight.
"I'm perfectly normal, thank you. You act like I should be groveling at Sheila's feet but you know what kind of risk she's asking me to take. You can go stick a dildo in your glory hole Diana!"
There was a burst of laughter from all around. Kai more or less knew that these people looked serious but were basically just a bunch of sophisticated thugs by now. Diana directly wanted to pounce of Kai with an agitated look on her face, but Sheila stopped her by coaxing her and saying that Kai would be gone soon, and she could always beat him up after the mission, etc.
After a few minutes of Kai bantering with a bunch of dudes who kicked his tail end, the formation masters were done. Kai and another spacial mage named Wesley both walked up to the formation and began to pour in mana charged with the ability to move space. It only took a few moments before the two got the formation ready, and soon the while team was teleported back to the entrance of the dungeon, which was a glowing blue portal. Everyone stepped out of the dungeon and back into the dungeon reception building built around this particular dungeon. Naturally, the staff were all from the August corporation a d treated this particular team very nicely as they left the dungeon. As Kai stepped out, he decided to check his status panel.

Sheila's voice came from directly behind Kai, whispering straight into his ear.
"You're definitely overpowered. I might've gone a bit overboard this time."
What Kai thought was overpowered was Sheila's ability to just stick to him like sweat on a worker like it was her natural place to be right next to him.
