Chapter Ten: A Night at the movies

After their shopping spree, James glanced at Charlotte as they walked toward the car. "The day's not over yet."

Charlotte raised an eyebrow. "Oh? What else do you have planned, Mr. Clemens?"

James smirked. "A movie."

Charlotte blinked. "You actually go to the movies?"

He chuckled. "Not usually. But I figured, why not? A normal date, just us. No business calls, no cameras, no expectations."

Something about the way he said it made warmth bloom in Charlotte's chest. A real date. Not a forced outing, not an obligation—just two people spending time together.

At the Cinema

James, of course, had rented out an entire VIP theater.

"Seriously?" Charlotte laughed as she saw the empty room, plush recliners waiting for them.

James shrugged. "I don't like crowds."

Charlotte rolled her eyes but couldn't help smiling. They picked a seat in the middle, and soon, the lights dimmed, and the screen lit up.

They watched an action movie—James's choice—but surprisingly, Charlotte found herself enjoying it. Halfway through, she felt James reach for her hand, his fingers intertwining with hers. She glanced at him, and he smirked.

"You're actually into this, aren't you?" he teased.

Charlotte huffed. "I never said I wasn't."

James chuckled and pulled her closer, draping his arm around her. For the rest of the movie, she leaned into him, feeling more relaxed than she ever had.

By the time the credits rolled, Charlotte found herself wishing the night wouldn't end.

As they left the theater, James squeezed her hand. "Enjoy yourself?"

Charlotte smiled up at him. "I did."

James leaned down, brushing his lips against her ear. "Good. Because I'm not done spoiling you yet."

And with that, he led her back to the car, already planning their next adventure.
