Ch 20: anomaly

It was around 5 o'clock in the morning, Rose along with her sisters were getting ready to go to school. Inside the room, the sisters were putting on their uniforms while chatting animatedly.

"Tch! That annoying goddess hasn't left all night!" Rose said irritably. Last night, Amaterasu refused to go home. With Elsa's arrival, the house became more lively, but even after the goddess went to sleep, they couldn't escape to their father Noah's room.

Checking the time on her watch, Uro, who was much calmer than her mother and sister, applied light makeup to her face in front of the vanity mirror. Akeno, who was already dressed, quickly went down to the dining room to have breakfast. Since the previous night, she had been avoiding the gazes of her 'sisters'.

Right after Akeno got off, Uro looked at Rose who was already ready and asked a little hesitantly, "Don't you think Akeno is acting strange?"

"Well, I guess if I saw my dad, mom, and sisters about to have an orgy, I'd feel weird too!"

Agreeing with Rose's statement, Uro finished putting on her school clothes and both sisters went downstairs.

In the dining room, Elsa and Amaterasu were having a harmonious conversation as if they had been friends for decades. Noah watched with an astonished expression.

'Is this goddess some divine socialite??'

Minutes later, everyone was gathered for breakfast. In this house, one of the family rules was that everyone must participate in family meals. After breakfast, everyone went their separate ways. Shuri and Elsa were learning martial arts from Amaterasu. Despite being a bit sloppy, the goddess was truly formidable in combat. Uro and Akeno left for school.

Before Rose left for school with her sisters, Noah decided to go ahead with the plan to search for his mother in the other world. Rose, who was missing her mother, joined Noah. As soon as Noah opened a portal to Rose's world, time, which had previously stopped, began to run again.

......

Inside a cave, a group of archaeologists were checking a strange wooden staff that was on a golden altar.

"Are you sure about this?" asked an archaeologist.

"Yes, the features match the description given in the Vatican records."

Hearing his subordinate's answer, a gleam of joy and relief flashed across the archaeologist's eyes. He and his team had been searching for this staff for almost eight months. To many, it might just be a piece of ancient wood. But he knew that this staff could cause catastrophe even for great powers. How did he know this? This was because of his employer.

A mysterious man who appeared 1 year ago, he claimed to be a being from a higher dimension who was searching for a treasure from his world. At first the archaeologist was skeptical, but when the man revealed powers that humans should not have, he decided to trust. Who knows, maybe he could transcend the limits of humanity.

Footsteps were heard in the direction of the cave entrance. As the footsteps approached, a shadow could be seen in the direction from which the sound came. An old man was walking slowly towards the archaeologists, his white beard that reached his abdomen swaying with each step.

In his right hand, a small iron cane supported each step, although his back was hunched and his eyes closed, he did not have the aura of an old man at the end of his life, but rather exuded the aura of a warrior ready to fight to the death.

The archaeologists bowed before the old man and the chief archaeologist took two steps ahead of his subordinates.

"Lord Aaron, we have found the lost relic!" he spoke eloquently.

Aaron didn't pay much attention to the archaeologists, his eyes fixed on the staff that was on the altar, melancholy and nostalgia flickering in his old eyes. Letting out a sigh of relief, he slowly walked towards the altar.

Realizing that his employer had ignored him, the chief archaeologist frowned.

"What are you doing, Mr. Aaron?" he asked, his face wrinkled with anger at being ignored.

'Who does this dying old man think he is? Even if he has powers there are many ways to end him.' he thought.

Aaron continued on his way without paying attention to the archaeologist. When he approached the staff, he extended his arm, dropping his iron cane and taking the staff from the altar.

When his hand made contact with the staff, it vibrated sending waves of energy throughout the cave, the waves traveling illuminating everything in their path.

The ceiling of the cave, previously impossible to see, now showed an image of a man followed by thousands of people crossing what appeared to be a river.

Looking up, the chief archaeologist froze, his mind thinking about several things at once.

'So it was real!? This is the staff Moses used to free his people from the clutches of Egypt.' He looked at the staff greedily. Without a second thought, he pulled out a weapon from his waist and pointed it at Aaron.

Aaron, looking at the archaeologist who was now looking at him with malice, remained calm as the surface of a lake.

"Foolish child..." he said, shaking his head a little sadly. To him, who had lived for thousands of years and seen the decline of humanity, the archaeologist's actions had always been predictable.

Raising the staff in his hand, he slowly lowered it until it touched the cave floor. "Because of man's wickedness in disobeying the supreme God, Tenth plague!"

As the words left his mouth, a white light came out of the staff, flying over the cave it passed between the archaeologists, little by little they fell lifeless like puppets that had lost their strings.

Already in despair, the archaeologist prepared to pull the trigger, when a strange portal appeared in front of old Aaron.

From the portal a man and a woman came out hand in hand, the man looked fixedly at Aaron and was amazed to see the staff in his hands.

"This doesn't belong in this world... You don't belong in this world!" The man, who was Noah, stared intently at Aaron who still maintained his calm posture. Noah was intrigued, even though the strange old man in front of him didn't have enough power to match him, his face remained calm.

As Aaron was about to introduce himself, the entire cave was surrounded by a group of witches who arrived at the scene shortly after.

"The party is getting crowded, isn't it?" Noah joked.

"Ah Mary!!" The woman who was holding hands with Noah was obviously Rose, who after breakfast, came to this world to tie up some loose ends and look for her mother.

Mary, or better known by the title Blood Mary, is the head Witch of the supernatural department of this world, as one of the descendants of the legendary Salem witches and the famous Blair Witch. She held 60% of the criminal power when cases were of supernatural origin.

Looking at the couple in front of her, Mary walked over and extended a hand to Rose.

"It's good to see you're okay Rosemary!"

"It would be good to see you, if we weren't surrounded by your witches again," Rose replied, exasperated by the situation. This was the second time she had met Mary, just like the first time, she was surrounded like a criminal.

"Fufu~ it's not my fault! You choose the worst company." With a soft smile, she let go of Rose's hand and focused her gaze on the charming man in front of her.

'tch! This girl is lucky,' Mary grumbled in her heart. But like a professional, her face remained neutral without showing any fluctuations.

Noah watched the exchange with a smile on his face, the archaeologist who had already lost his patience, aimed at Aaron, but when his finger was about to pull the trigger, the light that was still wandering through the cave passed through his body and then he fell to the ground just like all the other archaeologists before.

This did not go unnoticed by everyone else present, the most uninformed were alerted by the strange white light, Noah wasted no time using analysis.

Noah raised a finger pointing at the strange light, but it flew straight to Aaron and then returned to the staff. Now everyone's gaze was focused on the old man who had previously seemed like the victim.

Just like before, Noah used his ability on the strange staff, even though he already had some speculations based on the cave paintings.
