Hongyun pavilion

"Little Ting, don't worry. No one will know that you have sneaked out of the Clear wind city", Yan Mei spoke.

"But little ancestor, you are way out of line this time. Sneaking out of the Hongyun pavilion is one thing. But you have even sneaked into the Wailing wind forest range along with little Mei. How can you cause such trouble? Do you know, our aged hearts could not bear such torture?", the middle aged man looked towards Li Ting with a bitter face. He wanted to scold Li Ting but he couldn't bear to do so.

"Uncle Mo, I am sorry", Li Ting lowered her head. It was indeed her fault this time to sneak out of the Hongyun pavilion without informing anyone. By the time, Yan Mei found out, they were already outside the Clear wind city.

"Young man, since you are familiar with little Mei, I will not be overly polite. You can look for me if you face any trouble ", the middle aged man spoke to Xie Long. He waved his hand and a formless energy helped Xie Long, Yan Mei and Li Ting to float in the air. He flew towards the eagle and brought all three of them along with him.

Xie Long felt surprised after observing the eagle from a close distance. He had never seen any bird or animal of this proportion. The eagle was truly enormous. It's back could easily carry thirty to fourty people at once.

"It is a stormbreaker eagle. It is born as a third rank magical beast at the time of its birth", Yan Mei explained after seeing the surprised expression on Xie Long's face.

"What! It is equal to a Yuan transformation realm cultivator at the time of its birth!", Xie Long exclaimed.

Human cultivation path was divided into nine realms. Xie Long had heard about only three realms from his mother. They were Qi condensation realm, Meridian opening realm and Yuan transformation realm. He had heard that beginning with Meridian opening realm, every step was like climbing a stiff mountain. The further one climbed, more difficult it would become.

Even with his lucky encounter with the divine pagoda, he was only at first stage of the Meridian opening realm. Thus, he felt surprise when he heard that a creature could bypass two major realms and rival a Yuan transformation realm cultivator as soon as it born.

"Little brother, it looks like you have yet to learn properly about the cultivation world. Otherwise, the information about the stormbreaker eagle wouldn't surprise you this much. There are rumours that some offspring of truly formidable creatures are at fifth rank at the time of their birth. They are the true marvels of cultivation world. When they grows up, there mere presence will terrorize the human world", Yan Mei spoke.

"Fifth rank! It is unimaginable to think", Xie Long murmured. He looked at the distant horizon and watched as the clouds go past them. The speed of stormbreaker eagle was breathtaking. Xie Long could barely see anything as the clouds go past by their group.

"Aiya", Li Ting suddenly cried out in surprise. She looked at Yan Mei with an aggrieved expression on her face.

"Little girl, how much longer are you going to see little brother Long? I know, he is handsome. But you should control yourself. What will he think if he sees the drool on your face?", Yan Mei whispered near Li Ting's mouth.

"I am not looking....I am just watching the sky alongwith senior brother Long", Li Ting stuttered slightly while explaining herself. Her lovely cheeks became completely red after she heard Yan Mei's words. She hurried wiped away the drool on her face and turned to look at Yan Mei with complain in her eyes.

"Senior sister, how can you tease me like this? You should have reminded me earlier. What if senior brother Long sees me like this?", Li Ting complained.

Li Ting was unaware that two more person heard their secret whispers. Yan Mei was aware that the middle aged man could heard their conversation but she had never thought that Xie Long could hear their conversation.

Xie Long felt surprised by his own hearing ability. Before entering the divine pagoda, he could have never heard such whispers. Yet, he could hear every word that Yan Mei and Li Ting spoke. He could feel that this enhancement in hearing ability had nothing to do with his Meridian opening realm cultivation rather it was an ability which came from his paternal bloodline awakening.

'So, she also likes me to some extent', Xie Long thought to himself. His desire for power burned more fiercely after he heard Yan Mei and Li Ting's conversation. From their earlier conversation, he had deducted that Li Ting came from a shocking background. To get near her, he must have matching ability.

'That helplessness I never want to feel again. All I need is power and more power... As long I am strong, my vengeance, Li Ting, everything I can obtain. After healing mother, I can look for father', Xie Long clenched his fists.

After flying for awhile, the eagle dove down from the sky. Xie Long's heart skipped a beat after the sudden shift in stormbreaker eagle's flying trajectory.

A large city protected by towering city walls came to his view. There were numerous buildings, flourishing establishments which were large than any building he had ever seen. There was a sea of people, they looked like line of ants from the distant sky. The eagle chose the southern part of the city and slowed down its descending speed. A large area with picturesque surrounding came to his view.

"We have reached the Hongyun pavilion", Yan Mei spoke. The stormbreaker eagle flapped it's wings and descended on a wide plain ground.

"Little Mei, we can talk another time. I have another assignment for which I have to leave the city. Properly entertain this young friend untill I return", the middle aged man spoke. He flew into the sky and soon disappeared from everyone's eyesight.

"Little brother, let me arrange a good place for you to stay. After you take some rest, we can visit the Clear wind city", Yan Mei spoke.

"Elder sister, please don't forget about the Oak valley town. I want to learn the recent events in the town", Xie Long spoke.

"Don't worry. I will enquire about it after arranging a place for you", Yan Mei replied. Xie Long followed after Yan Mei and Li Ting and came to a flourishing area. There were many cultivators gathered infront of a three storied building.
