The World’s Number One Killer – Tao Baibai

After Marshal Black issued the order, the entire Red Ribbon Army headquarters burst into action. Soldiers rushed to their positions, their heavy boots stomping across the ground. Armored combat vehicles and humanoid battle mechs rolled out of their storage areas, fully loaded with fuel and ammunition. Fighter jets stationed at the airstrip powered up their engines, pilots preparing for takeoff. The entire base was mobilized.

Even with all of this, Marshal Black still didn't feel secure. This was about his lifelong wish, something he had pursued for years. He couldn't afford to take risks. Just deploying the army wasn't enough. He needed a backup plan.

There was only one person in the world who could guarantee success. Tao Baibai.

In Marshal Black's eyes, Tao Baibai wasn't just an assassin. He was a force of nature, a walking disaster capable of killing anyone without fail. Unlike an army that relied on weapons and technology, Tao Baibai only needed his bare hands to destroy everything in his way. He was ruthless. Efficient. Unstoppable.

The problem was the cost. Tao Baibai was the most expensive killer in the world, and he charged a fixed rate. 100 million zeni per kill. It didn't matter who the target was—everyone had the same price. And Tao Baibai never killed just one person. If anyone got in his way, they were also considered a target. Each of them was another 100 million zeni.

That meant hiring Tao Baibai wasn't just a financial decision. It was a potential financial disaster. If the target was in a crowded place, the cost of his mission could reach billions. And if someone refused to pay? They wouldn't live long enough to regret it.

Marshal Black always avoided hiring Tao Baibai unless absolutely necessary. But this time, he didn't hesitate. This was different. The Dragon Balls were at stake. He had no choice.

Picking up the phone, he dialed the number. The line rang. Once. Twice. No answer. Marshal Black frowned. Tao Baibai rarely had clients because of his absurdly high price. It was normal for him to go an entire year without taking a job. But now, when Marshal Black finally needed him, he was unavailable?

What terrible timing.

With a look of frustration, Marshal Black slammed the phone down, breaking it in half. Fine. If Tao Baibai wasn't an option, then so be it. The Red Ribbon Army didn't need him. They were strong enough to deal with whoever was coming for them. They had the numbers, the firepower, and the technology. No single person, no matter how powerful, could stand against all of that.

Marshal Black grabbed the Two-Star Dragon Ball, tucked it under his arm, and marched toward the command center. His tall, muscular second-in-command followed behind him, silent as ever. As soon as he stepped into the command room, he barked his order. "Put the enemy on the big screen."

A soldier pressed a few buttons on the control panel. The massive screen flickered to life. What appeared on it made the entire room go silent.

Marshal Black's pipe fell from his mouth. The Dragon Ball slipped from his fingers and hit the floor. His heart pounded in his chest.

Flying toward the Red Ribbon Army headquarters was the last person he wanted to see. Tao Baibai.

He wasn't in a plane. He wasn't using a jetpack. He was flying by standing on top of a wooden pillar, arms crossed behind his back, as if he didn't have a care in the world. He moved through the air effortlessly, his speed far beyond anything a normal human should be capable of.

Marshal Black felt a cold sweat form on his forehead. He had wanted to hire Tao Baibai. Instead, Tao Baibai had become his enemy.

"Open fire! Kill him immediately!" Marshal Black roared, his voice filled with panic. He had seen Tao Baibai's strength before. He knew what the assassin was capable of. And now, because of the Dragon Balls, Tao Baibai was an opponent he had to eliminate.

The tall adjutant standing beside him nodded. "As you command, Commander-in-Chief."

At the base of the snow-capped mountains surrounding the headquarters, missile launchers locked onto their target. Within moments, a massive barrage of anti-aircraft missiles fired into the sky, leaving behind thick trails of smoke. The deadly projectiles zoomed toward Tao Baibai, aiming to obliterate him before he got any closer.

But Tao Baibai only smirked. His expression didn't change. He didn't dodge. He didn't panic. He simply lifted his finger. A bright light flickered at the tip. Then, with a flick of his wrist, he fired.

Qigong blasts shot from his fingertip, moving like bullets from a machine gun. Each energy wave struck an incoming missile, triggering a massive explosion in midair. One after another, the sky erupted into flames as the missiles were destroyed before they could even get close.

The soldiers in the command center watched in stunned silence. One moment, they had fired a full-scale attack. The next, all their missiles were gone.

The screen flickered as fire and smoke filled the sky. Tao Baibai had been completely engulfed in the explosion.

"Hah! He thought he could take on the Red Ribbon Army alone? What an idiot!" a soldier laughed.

Marshal Black smirked. "Even Tao Baibai isn't invincible. There's no way he survived that."

The room filled with relieved chuckles. They had fired everything at him. There was no way he was still alive.

But as the smoke cleared, the laughter died.

Tao Baibai emerged from the explosion, completely unharmed. Not a single burn. Not a single scratch. His pink robe, the one with the word "Kill" written across his chest, wasn't even singed. His expression remained calm, as if the attack had been nothing more than a light breeze.

The command center fell into dead silence. The soldiers who had been cheering now stared in horror.

Not even their strongest missiles had managed to scratch him.

"Is this guy even human?" one soldier whispered, his voice trembling.

Marshal Black gritted his teeth, his grip tightening around the Two-Star Dragon Ball. He had built the Red Ribbon Army into one of the most powerful forces in the world. And yet, for the first time in years, he felt something he had long forgotten. Fear.

But he couldn't let this stop him. His dream was too important. He took a deep breath and forced himself to remain calm. "Send out every soldier!" he commanded. "We can't let him reach the base!"

Then, turning to his second-in-command, he issued his final order. "Go find General Blue. Tell him to handle Tao Baibai personally."

Because if there was anyone in the Red Ribbon Army who had a chance of stopping the world's deadliest assassin, it was him.
