"Yamcha, the reason Goku became so much stronger than you is because of his tail. You can't envy that," Renkai said.
"Brother, is there no other way for me to suddenly become as strong as Goku?"
Yamcha looked at the monkey tail dangling behind Little Goku with envy, his expression filled with reluctance.
"Are you willing to risk your life?"
Renkai glanced at Yamcha, pondered for a moment, and then suddenly spoke.
"Risk my life?"
Yamcha was stunned, confused for a moment, but then his expression firmed up. "To become a powerful martial artist, I'll give everything I have!"
"Good, very determined!"
Twelve hours later, Renkai transformed into his humanoid dragon form, asked Yamcha to make a wish, and obtained a pot of Super Divine Water.
Yamcha gulped down the entire bowl of this mystical liquid.
And then—death!
Right in front of Renkai, he died a miserable death!
"Master Yamcha!"
Puar, Yamcha's companion, immediately burst into tears.
"As expected, Super Divine Water is only a special boost for Goku," Renkai remarked.
Little Goku, who had witnessed Yamcha's sudden death, was also stunned.
"Goku, why are you panicking? Don't forget that you can make a wish to me and revive Yamcha," Renkai reminded.
"Oh, why did I forget that I could just ask my big brother to bring Yamcha back to life?"
Little Goku grinned sheepishly at Renkai.
Twelve hours later, Little Goku made a wish, and Yamcha was resurrected.
Even after coming back to life, Yamcha was still trembling. The pain of the Super Divine Water's poison was unbearable—he never wanted to experience that again.
After Little Goku's base combat power exceeded 1,000, Renkai began teaching him Kaio-ken.
Yamcha took advantage of this opportunity, learning Kaio-ken from Goku. He understood the technique but found himself unable to use it.
Renkai considered the situation. If it wasn't because Earthlings were naturally incompatible with the technique, then it had to be because Yamcha's combat power was still too weak.
On the other hand, after learning Kaio-ken, Little Goku was immediately able to use Kaio-ken x2.
"Beep!"
Son Goku: Base Power Level 1,200 → Kaio-ken x2: Power Level 2,400
After drinking the Super Divine Water, even without using Saiyan transformation exploits, Goku's training efficiency increased significantly.
Time passed quickly, bringing them to 750 A.D.
"Brother, Goku and I have been training with you for almost a year. It's time to test our skills!"
Yamcha, who had grown stronger over the year, suggested this during their training.
"Brother, I think Yamcha has a point! Tell us where we can find strong fighters—I want to challenge them!"
Little Goku's eyes lit up with excitement as he clenched his fists.
"While it's unnecessary, you could sign up for… let's see, which tournament is it?"
Renkai thought for a moment and recalled something he had nearly overlooked—the World Martial Arts Tournament.
This early-stage event was a grand celebration of martial artists from all over the world.
But to Renkai and Little Goku, who were far beyond the level of ordinary Earthlings, this so-called "greatest tournament" was little more than a farce.
Still, Renkai didn't mind letting them have some fun.
"Alright, go ahead and participate," he said.
"Yeah!"
Little Goku and Yamcha exchanged excited smiles.
"Brother, I saw the tournament being advertised on TV. The World Martial Arts Tournament is held every five years, and this year marks the 21st tournament," Bulma chimed in, smiling.
"Brother, I want to go with you."
"Sure," Renkai agreed, smiling at her warmly.
"Beep!"
Renkai: Base Power Level 50,000 → Humanoid Dragon Form: 500,000 → Kaio-ken x20: 10 Million Son Goku: Base Power Level 4,000 → Kaio-ken x10: 40,000 Yamcha: Base Power Level 95 Bulma: Base Power Level 12 Oolong: Base Power Level 6 Puar: Base Power Level 6
Renkai had granted multiple wishes for Little Goku, and thanks to his Saiyan bloodline, Goku's training in a gravity-enhanced environment had increased his base power by 2,000 in nearly a year. It wasn't much compared to Renkai's exponential growth, but it was still an impressive gain.
As for Bulma and the others, Renkai had only given them light training without strict regimens. After nearly a year, their combat power had increased slightly from their original levels.
"Brother, when we travel to the 21st World Martial Arts Tournament, should we take the RV again?"
Bulma asked, as she had grown accustomed to Renkai making the decisions.
"Let's find another mode of transportation. Are there any large aircraft that can carry multiple people?"
Renkai recalled the giant airship from the original story.
"We can prepare one right away, Brother!"
Bulma quickly arranged for a universal capsule containing a luxurious large aircraft.
The aircraft was thoughtfully designed, equipped with a robot pilot, so even if the user didn't know how to fly, it wouldn't be a problem.
A few hours later, Renkai and his group arrived at the 21st World Martial Arts Tournament venue.
After storing the aircraft back into its capsule, Renkai led the group toward the registration desk.
The area was crowded, with a long queue of fighters signing up for the competition.
Since Renkai only came to watch the tournament for fun and had no intention of bullying beginner-level opponents, he let the excited Little Goku and Yamcha stand in line to register.
Meanwhile, Renkai handed some money to Oolong, letting him roam freely, and then wandered around the venue with Bulma.
The two chatted and laughed, looking just like a traveling couple.
"Renkai? Are you here to participate in the World Martial Arts Tournament too?"
Suddenly, an elderly voice called out in surprise.
Renkai turned his gaze away from Bulma and looked toward the source of the voice.
It was an old acquaintance.
At the crowded registration desk, Renkai spotted Kame Sennin.
The old martial arts master was dressed in a black top hat and black suit, looking much more formal than his usual beachwear attire.
Kame Sennin was a man who had lived for centuries—Renkai had met him before.
That made them "old" acquaintances, didn't it?
"I didn't expect you to remember my name after just one meeting. Long time no see, Kame Sennin!"
Renkai greeted him with a smile.
"This is…?"
Renkai's gaze landed on a small, bald boy standing beside Kame Sennin. He already knew the answer, but he asked anyway.
"Oh, him? This is my new disciple, Krillin," Kame Sennin introduced.
"Hello, Krillin! My name is Renkai, and this is my girlfriend, Bulma."
Renkai smiled at the curious-looking little bald boy.
Krillin.
A key figure in the story. Without Krillin's pivotal contributions, Goku wouldn't have transformed into a Super Saiyan during his battle against Frieza.
