I wasn't one bit surprised by Jake's reaction. To be honest seeing someone try to be the hero made me confirm something.

In this world it's always the hero who dies first.

I looked away and turned to Jake then said

"Before we can attack, describe for me your status"

Hearing the double stat effect of the knight's armour i realised that it's quite a broken effect.

With the armour Jake should be able to take on wolf on his own and that is more true if he uses his ability

[Initiate ability:Paralysis touch--Paralysis venom]

[Causes anyone that comes in contact with the use to become paralysed]

[Active effects:Blood hardening and bone softening]

After his ability upgraded it didn't change much but more effects were added. Though the effect are not described, just the names are enough to what they do. 

Though it would have been better if we know how good the effect is on an opponent.

There are a few things that intrigued me about Jake's status and ability

First of all is the increase in Mana points(Mp:100---120), it seems an increase in intelligence leads to increase in mana. Each point in intelligence represents an increase in 5 point in mana.

The second thing is [Active effect] of his ability, from what Jake said he needs to add mana to activate it.

Unlike the [Passive effect] of my title that is active continuously without giving it any mana.

Though its effect isn't as impactful as an active one, at least for now . That will definitely change once my Charisma has increased.

I then turned to Alex whose face kept changing as Jake described his status. He seemed to be conflicted by something so i asked

"Is something wrong with your status"

Faced with my question Alex didn't explain but instead started to describe his status

Now i understood why Alex looked confused one is that his initiate ability seemed to not show on his status despite still having it.

Another thing is that two stats [intelligence] and [perspective] seemed to have been replaced with [Mental force].

To be honest i didn't understand what's going on or why it happened so i asked

"Does it feel different"

Alex shook his head 

"No actually i feel even better, when my ability upgrade it turned into a stat called [Mental force]"

"I had not know there are two other stats missing from my status thats why i was confused when spoke of them"

It looks like upgrading Alex's ability caused a change to his status but there was something am not sure about.

"Alex from what i can tell the stat [mental force] seems to carry [intelligence] in it because the size of your Mp is larger than ours but what of your [perspective]"

"Now that you mention it i can now feel everything within a 5 meter radius no matter the direction"

A shout came from Jake in the back

"That's not fair, doesn't that mean that increasing that stat alone is like increasing both at the same time"

For the first time since the descent i was truly shocked, I had not thought about it like that.

Just the implications of this was great. It meant putting one stat in it is like having two.

No matter how one looked at it, it was unfair.

A large grin flashed on Alex's face after understanding what this meant cause he also hadn't thought of it.

"HAHA Jake accept it, you will always come as the second mate while am the first"

Jake's face dropped as he fell on his knees in a dramatic way while banging his hand on the ground

"Why?, why is your ability better than my"

"Hahahahahahaha"

Seeing the two joke around in this place made me think 

'I wonder how we will look like sometime from now, will we still be the same'

While i was in my thought Alex called out

"Damien, it seems your first Knight has been decided"

Jake followed behind with a sad look.

"That great and all but we are wasting time on such dumb things instead of pla..."

Before i could finish the wolves howled loudly.

Standing in the compound in front of the dungeon door, It seems the tire of waiting for their prey to fight and decided to bring the fight to us 

6 wolves rushed to the school doors leaving one at the dungeon gate.

Just then 2 figures burst through the rooftop door one of them immediately closed behind them while panting heavy.

This prompted me to look at them. One of them was a girl and the one closing the door is a boy.

Girl turned and noticed two students and a figure in an armour with six bladed whips coming out from his back which scared her causing her to scream out.

The boy quickly turned to see the situation, he frown when he noticed there two students who had reached here before him.

His face dropped even further when he saw a figure in a weird armour but that was not the only thing floating behind one of the students were metal fragments.

Unlike the girl he analysed the situation and concluded two of the three people bought some special items in the system store.

His eyes moved to the floating metal fragment and an evil thought entered his mind.

He smiled mischievously and said while he moved closer to the girl.

"My good brothers is it possible to share this space, it isn't looking good inside"

To be honest i find this situation weird, for some reason i can read his intentions clearly but i was never good at that before.

I turned to Alex who i could tell had believed in this guy's words, am not sure why but i could just feel it.

Though Jake had his armour on i could also feel it from him.

This made me realise that it is not that am reading their thoughts but i can vaguely feel there intentions.

The only thing that i had that could explain this was.

[Passive effect:Lord's Aura]

It made me think, now that i could tell this guys intentions there is no need to spare him, the only problem is Jake.

No matter who i ask Alex to kill, he would do it with out second thoughts as long as they are not close to us.

But Jake despite having watched someone die , he has never taken a life and this is a problem.

In this new world mercy is for fools, and is a weakness. I need to solve this before it becomes a problem. 

Then my gaze turn to the people in front of me and a thought emerged

'Did i want to test out the effectiveness of Jake's ability. hehehehe it's like killing two bird with one stone'

I said to Alex with a smile on my face 

"Could you pin these people down there is something i need to test"

Alex seemed a little confused but did not hesitate. Some metal fragment rushed forward and bind their wrists and legs , directly pinning them to the ground.

Jake was startled by our sudden action, I did not give him a glance but instead walked to the pair pinned on the ground.

The girl and guy were panicking not even sure what was going on. With teary eyes the girl said

"Please let me go "

The guy also followed her lead and begged

"Do whatever you want with her but please let me go"

I didn't care about there ranting and just stood in front of them then said

"Let me tell you something i obtained a title called [Lord of Knights]"

Alex and Jake looked surprised since i had not told them.

"One of the benefits from its effect is that it allows me to sense the intentions of those close to me"

The face on the guy dropped hearing this. I could see him cursing himself in his head for being greed

"This guy seemed to have had some funny thoughts about Alex's armour"

Alex's eyes turned cold and the metal fragments behind him shook a little

"But your in luck, i currently want to test the effects of Jake's ability"

The girl already had tears pouring out of her eyes 

"Please let me go i never had any bad intention"

I shook my head and said

"That's the problem there are two effect so two people are needed"

All hope seemed have been lost, she wanted to scream but an invisible force shut her mouth

I turned to Jake who still hadn't processed what was going on and said

"Let's see what your ability can do"
