Before i could ponder over it, Sandra said in an angry voice
"Why did you block my healing ability no, how did you block it"
I didn't answer but thought back
'The notification said foreign energy, That must be her ability'
My head had too many questions right now
'Where am i, where are Alex and Jake. How much time has passed'

There are some differences in my status like the disappearance of my special title which didn't surprise me, since i didn't fulfill the hidden condition.
Another thing is my soul essence. We may have hunted down 5 wolves but that is not enough to fill it up.
Then there is this Trait. This is another thing John didn't talk about, i have absolutely no idea what it is.
It doesn't even give a clear description. It says something about tainted remnants of a title.
'Did the title i had been evil. nonono By tainted it must mean when i change the core from Trust to fear'
Sandra seeing i was not paying her any attention tapped my hand. Prompting me to look at her.
"Tell me how you stopped my healing otherwise i won't be able to heal you"
At that time the look in my eyes changed, Sandra who previously had a curious look instinctively took a step back with a grimace expression
My body gave of a strange feeling around it. Despite hurting all over i sat up and turn to her then said. The strange feeling attached itself to my voice.
"THERE ARE THINGS BEST LEFT UNKNOWN"
I looked at her hand and noticed something
Sandra was now trembling as sweat formed on her forehead. Am not sure what effect it had on her but she nodded and quickly exited the room.
I could hear her sprint the moment the door closed. I finally relax causing the strange feeling to subside.
My control over my body suddenly vanished. Making to once again lay down on the floor.
'What is this'
'There is a weird energy no pressure, no.... i can't describe it well but want i can feel it flow through me body'
'Before i just had wanted to Sandra from inquiring any more when i felt my body feel ok'
'I can still move my body but i is straining and painful to to so without it'
"Sigh"
"Let's take it slow, i will figure things out eventually."
Then i thought of an exciting idea
'Maybe i should try it out'
In this world for one to level up they must absorb soul essence from others, be it beasts or even humans.
But beings at Lv0 give no soul essence, that's why when i killed the guys outside of the classroom i got no notification.
Leveling is not as easy as it sound because one must struggle with the dead will within it.
I concentrated deep in me and felt the presence of soul essence. All one has to do i imagine absorbing it.
So i begun. Drawing soul essence into myself
I felt the soul essence begun to fight back but i kept going.5 minutes passed then beads of sweat started appearing on my forehead until finally

I took a deep breath and an annoying face formed on my face.
'It took 5 minutes to just absorb 1 soul essence when the hell will i reach the next Tier'
I had known leveling up was much harder than it seemed when John spoke about it. But i didn't think it would be this bad.
I thought back to my new trait.
'It must be that strange feeling flowing through my body'
The reason i was able to control my body despite being injured must because of it.
It's best i understand it now.
I tried to grasp it and it was much easier than i thought. I just had to think about it.
It feels tangible and intangible at the same time. I could control it and even it overlapped with my body.
Once again i could control my body to sit up but decided against. As it flowed through my body, i directed it to the soul essence and unexpectedly

The process repeated itself more than nine times, i wished it would continued but my head developed a strong headache.
It seems the price to use my trait is mental energy.
I decided to relax until the headache to disappear.
20 minutes after. the headache had not completely disappeared but i could feel my trait once more.

I felt power flood every inch of my body. It felt i can take a wolf head on but i know this was just an illusion from an increase in power.
From what i could tell, even a level on a wild wolf has more physical stats than me. To more exact most beast have high base stats than humans.
Meaning at the same level a beast should have more physical stats than a person. Though they are ways to overcome this.
Like initiate abilities and traits.
Just as i the surge in power started fade, an notification flashed in my eyes but this one was a different colour from usually.
A bright golden notification appeared

Seeing this a deep frown formed on my face. The number of people who have reached Lv1 was higher than i expected.
Out of the 96 people 13 are human, some maybe native beasts or ....
I decide not to think about it.
'Time will come and none will stop me'
The first reward was amazing, i realised why John said it was had for people to cover the gap with the first ranks.
The system is giving us a bone for being active. It wants us to work much harder.
The strong shall indeed rule this world. It makes me wonder what the first people got. I bet Jake and Alex are among them.
I thought of the second reward and a stone with a strange symbol on it appeared out of thin air startling me a little.
It fell besides me. I looked at it a casually and then used my trait to move my body and pick it up.

Seeing the options, i decided to press no. I don't know what will happen to me as i absorb it.
'It's better to be safe than sorry'
I thought back to my last memories.
'If i had been more careful and not rushed then things would have been better'
'I forgot the rules. Never underestimate the enemy and never overestimate yourself'
'I underestimated the wolf intelligence, not expecting an ambush from a wolf plus i overestimated Jake's and Alex's capabilities, I had become over reliant on them.'
'For me to survive i must be strong as well, relying on others only takes you so far'

I had wanted to put more stats in Strength or speed. But decided to invest more into Charisma and my bet paid off.
Since my trait was made from the title [Lord of Knights] then it must also connected to my Charisma and i am right
Adding more stats into Charisma made [Tyrant's Influence] feel more than before, though the change wasn't that great.
It can continue to get better this way.
I have yet to fully understand its abilities.
Just then aloud bang came from the door. And 3 unfamiliar guys rushed in with wooden spears in their hands.
