Chapter 4: Shadows of the System

The sea stretched endlessly, its sapphire waves glittering under the afternoon sun. A small, battered boat cut through the gentle currents, carrying three unlikely companions: Luffy (Akira), Zoro, and Nami.

The air was filled with tension despite the calm waters.

Zoro leaned against the mast, sharpening his swords with a practiced hand. His eyes flicked occasionally toward Nami, who sat on the opposite side of the boat, clutching a map and glaring at Luffy like he owed her a million berries.

Meanwhile, Akira—still adjusting to his new life as Luffy—sat cross-legged at the bow, grinning into the horizon.

But behind that smile, his mind raced.

This isn't just One Piece anymore… Something's wrong with this world.

The "Pirate King System" wasn't part of the original story, and the way events had shifted—the changes in Zoro, Nami, even Buggy—hinted at something bigger. Something dangerous.

Failure: Permanent Debuff: "Blind Spot" (reduced awareness of hidden threats).

Akira's grin faded slightly. Another System User?

This was no longer just a journey to become King of the Pirates. There were others like him out there—people with knowledge of the future, people with power beyond this world's natural laws.

And they could be anywhere.

The Next Island – Gray Harbor

Gray Harbor was supposed to be a peaceful trade town. But when the crew arrived, they found it in ruins.

Smoke rose from charred buildings, and injured villagers huddled near the docks. The symbol of a blackened skull was painted across the walls—a mark Akira didn't recognize from the original story.

Zoro stepped off the boat, his hand instinctively resting on his swords. "Looks like someone beat us here."

Nami frowned. "Pirates?"

Akira's eyes narrowed. No… something worse.

As they approached the wreckage, a wounded villager grabbed Luffy's leg, his face pale and desperate.

"T-They came out of nowhere… their captain… he had red eyes… and… and he didn't even fight. His crew did everything while he just… watched."

Red eyes.

That was all Akira needed to hear.

[Quest Update: Enemy System User Detected.]

Codename: "Black Dawn"

Threat Level: Unknown

Warning: Proceed with caution.

Black Dawn…

Akira's fists clenched. He wasn't the only reincarnator. And this one wasn't here to make friends.

Tracking the Enemy

The trio followed the trail of destruction inland, navigating through dense forests and abandoned villages. Along the way, Akira's System provided sporadic updates, marking hidden traps and enemy patrols with glowing indicators only he could see.

It felt like cheating.

But if Black Dawn had a System too, the playing field was already far from fair.

Eventually, they reached a clearing where a group of pirates had set up camp. Their flag—a twisted version of a Jolly Roger with crimson streaks—fluttered ominously.

Akira took a deep breath. "Alright, time to make an entrance."

The Ambush

Without waiting for a plan, Akira charged in, his rubber limbs stretching as he launched himself into the camp.

"GOMU GOMU NO PISTOL!"

His fist crashed into the first pirate, sending him flying into a stack of crates. Chaos erupted as the remaining crew scrambled to respond.

Zoro followed with deadly precision, cutting down enemies with swift, clean strikes. Nami provided support, using her staff to disarm and outmaneuver opponents with surprising agility.

But something was wrong.

The pirates didn't fight like normal thugs. Their movements were too coordinated—almost mechanical.

And then he appeared.

Standing at the edge of the camp was a tall figure clad in a dark cloak, his face hidden beneath a shadowed hood. But Akira could see the faint glow of red eyes beneath it.

"So… you're the other one." The man's voice was cold, emotionless.

Akira gritted his teeth. "Who are you?"

The man tilted his head slightly. "Just another player in this game."

[Boss Encounter: "Black Dawn" - Enemy System User]

Warning: This enemy possesses advanced System abilities. Proceed with extreme caution.

Without warning, Black Dawn raised his hand, and a wave of dark energy erupted from his palm, slamming into Akira with the force of a cannonball.

Akira flew backward, crashing through a tree.

Zoro immediately rushed to engage, but Black Dawn was faster—unnervingly so. His movements blurred as he dodged every attack with ease.

"You're not strong enough," Black Dawn murmured, slamming his fist into Zoro's gut with a surge of dark power.

Zoro collapsed.

Akira struggled to his feet, blood dripping from the corner of his mouth.

Damn it… he's too fast.

But then—DING!

[Hidden Quest Activated: "Awaken the Captain's Spirit."]

Objective: Protect your crew at all costs.

Reward: Unlock Skill: "Gear Shift" (temporary boost to speed and strength).

Failure: Crew morale decreases significantly.

Akira wiped the blood from his mouth and grinned. "You messed with the wrong crew."

With a surge of determination, his body felt lighter—faster.

"GOMU GOMU NO BAZOOKA!"

His fists slammed into Black Dawn with a force that shook the ground.

For the first time, Black Dawn staggered.

Aftermath

The battle didn't end in victory. Black Dawn escaped, leaving behind more questions than answers. But Akira had won something even more valuable—a new skill and the unshakable loyalty of his crew.
