You Know The Truth

Pablo pulled out his phone, wanting to dial Romero’s number as he headed out of the office. But he kicked against it and decided to return to the hospital. As he drove back, his mind was a flurry of plans and suspicions. They had to uncover the truth before it was too late.

Pablo hurried back into the hospital room moments later, Romero still sat by Carmen’s bedside, holding her hand, his expression tense, yet softened by a rare vulnerability. Carmen remained unconscious, her face pale.

Romero turned sharply as Pablo entered, and the trace of hope faded from his eyes as he saw the look on Pablo’s face. “Pablo, what is it? Why do you look like that? Did the doctor say something?”

Pablo shut the door and took a deep breath, bracing himself. “Boss, Carmen’s accident wasn’t an accident at all. Someone orchestrated it, planned it to get her out of the way. And if that’s true, it’s only part of a larger scheme. One that’s been in motion for longer than you might realize.”
