A fight

I sat next to this stranger, not knowing his name. Internally, I screamed, "Um, may I know your name? Mine is Eunice," I said to him as he continued driving. "I'm sorry for not introducing myself properly. My name is Kyle, Kyle Nathan. Nice to meet you, Eunice...." he replied. I cleared my throat, "Eunice Becker," I told him. He nodded, "Eunice Becker, welcome to Winters Pack. I promise you'll be safe here," he said with a devilish smirk.

We arrived at a large gate that opened for us as he drove in. The place was massive and beautiful. I looked out the window in awe of the size of the place. He came to a stop, "We're here, welcome to my home." We got out of the car and some servants approached him. "Master Kyle, your father is looking for you," one of them said. He nodded, "Barbara, this is my guest. Take her to one of our best rooms and treat her well." He looked at me, "My father needs me. Barbara will take care of you, and we'll get your belongings soon." I nodded as he walked away and Barbara led me to my room. The interior surpassed my expectations. The houses were the most beautiful I had ever seen. I couldn't take my eyes off it, not even realizing when we reached my room. "Here we are, please go in and rest," Barbara said as she opened the door. "Thank you," I muttered as I walked in. The room looked like it was straight out of a movie. Everything was shiny and expensive.

I sat on the edge of the bed, thinking about what to do when my cell phone rang. I answered it, saying "hey Lisa," but the voice on the other end wasn't hers. It was someone who made my heart skip a beat. "Where the hell are you, baby?" Baby? Who does he think he is calling me that? Even though I kind of liked it. "I'm going to hang up," I said. "Don't you d—" I hung up so he couldn't trace my call. Thank goodness I had only told Lisa that I was going to the next town. My cell phone rang again, and I turned it off. I lay on the bed and took a deep breath. I probably should get some sleep. I closed my eyes and drifted off.

I was running, but it wasn't like I was running away from something. It was like I was playing a game of catch me if you can. I would look back occasionally, waiting for someone or something to catch me, giggling. This doesn't feel like me. In the dream, I felt so happy. I was wearing a white dress as I ran. Suddenly, a big grey wolf appeared in front of me. I wasn't scared as it approached. I went near it and started touching its fur. It purred, and I kissed it, relishing its scent. It licked my face, and I closed my eyes. The sensation was incredible. I felt a love for it unlike any other feeling I've experienced before.

Immediately upon waking up, I wondered how long I had been asleep for. I glanced at my watch and saw that it was 5pm. I was surprised and sat up in bed. "You're awake now," a voice said. I turned to see Kyle standing there. "How long have you been here?" I asked. He came closer and sat on the sofa. "I just arrived. How are you feeling?" he inquired. "That was the best sleep I've had in a long time," I replied, speaking the truth.

"He called me through my friend," Kylie sat up, smiling. "Go on, give me the gist" This guy, if I can just slap that smirk off his face. "I didn't allow him to speak, I cut off the call," he burst into laughter. "Haha, oh, I should have been here," he wiped the tears off his eyes. "Do you want to kill him, human?" Kyle says. "You are an interesting one. The moon goddess knows what she was doing when she paired you two." Okay, I was starting to get lost here. "Nobody paired us together," he cleared his throat. "Nah, you do not know, and I'd like if he explains it himself to you. I just like how he chases you, Eunice. He'll find you, you are his." I recalled what he said that night but I frowned. "I am no one's. After all, he is engaged," I say, almost sounding spiteful. "Hmm, all I have to tell you is that now that he has found you as his mate, he will not marry his fiancée and he will not let you go." Kyle was serious. In fact, this is the first time he has been serious ever since I saw him.

Night fell, and my belongings were brought to me. I took a bath, had dinner, and stayed in my room. Barbara has been a great help to me, perhaps because she was given an order.

My thoughts turned to the dream I had. I'm not particularly fond of animals, but the connection I felt with that wolf was inexplicable. It was almost as if I were in love with it. I shook my head and chuckled at myself. Loving an animal, how absurd. I sighed and picked up my phone.

His voice was so pleasant, but he hardly knows me. Why was he acting like he owned me? And the way Kyle had spoken had me feeling bewildered. I wished someone could explain it to me. Why did I feel this way? I missed him, missed someone I barely knew. Unconsciously, I touched my lips, recalling the sensation of his on mine and how I yearned for more. The thought made me unwittingly moan. What had he done to me? I barely knew him.

I couldn't sleep all night as I dwelled on thoughts of him.

I didn't know when I fell asleep, but when I woke up it was dawn. I yawned, got out of bed, went to the bathroom, washed my face, and brushed my teeth. As I walked out of the bathroom, I felt my bedroom door open and saw Barbara standing there with a look on her face that sent shivers down my spine. "Master Kyle says not to come out of the room, Xander Myers is here," she said. I froze. What? I thought Kyle said his house was the safest. "Okay, thanks for telling me," I replied as she left after dropping off my food. Oh God, what am I going to do? Part of me was scared, and the other part was happy that he had already found me, as if we were playing hide and seek. I couldn't stomach the food properly knowing Xander Myers was here. My heart was beating faster than normal.

My door was opened, and I jerked up. I took a deep breath when I noticed it was Barbara, but something was off. "You should come out, Mr. Myers is fighting with Master Kyle." Uh? Fighting? I quickly got out of my nightgown and wore faded jeans and a top with a leather jacket. Xander was fighting with Kyle. Barbara escorted me to the place where the fighting was held, and the first thing I saw was Kyle being thrown to the floor. An older man was there cheering them on. These people are crazy. "Stop it!" I yelled, and they all froze.

Everyone turned toward me simultaneously. The older man had a smile across his face, similar to that of Kyle, so this is his dad. Kyle was breathing hard, trying to catch his breath, and Xander, the cause of it all, was looking at me as if I had cheated on him with Kyle. He didn't even have a single bruise on him, but Kyle did. Xander cleared his throat and arranged himself now I could see him properly, this man is fine, and I felt my heart skip a beat. Kyle laughed while getting up. "There is no need for you to comport yourself, your mate has already seen you being aggressive, old friend." My goodness, I felt like I had been betrayed by Kyle. So they are friends. Xander growled, and Kyle's father spoke. "Why don't we all come inside and

make merry, huh?"
