Mia
I hadn't slept the whole night. I couldn't. Sleep won't come to me. The eye-bags were screaming for themselves, of the the torture I had put my eyes through last night. One look at me and anyone could guess I was fucking depressed, crying my eyes out the previous night. So I did what a girl can do. Concealer. Loads of it.
Making my way down to the kitchen to grab myself something to eat. I had to do something to get out of here. I needed to warn Christian that Balthazar was going to attack them. Yes, I had lost my respect for him, he was no longer my dad. My blood boiled all over again thinking of that vile creature. But I had to handle things cleverly. I can't blow up anything yet. Fuck, I had even told Balthazar all the ins and outs, everything I knew about the pack. Fuck! Fuck! Fuck!
Christian. My thoughts ran back to him. He would probably hate me after what I did. Who wouldn't? But could I be blamed? I don't really know. I did betray them. Did the exact thing that my so-called father did to me. We weren't so different after all. Well, what can I say? I learnt from the best. Like father, like daughter. Why did he do it? Did he not once think of me as his daughter? Was I really not enough to prove to him that he was everything to me? I fucking betrayed my mate for him! For what?
"The princess is finally up," I rolled my eyes at the voice. I was so not in the mood for him. I continued to ignore the cockroach in my life, while filling up my plate with some fruits at the kitchen counter.
I heard footsteps approach me until I felt him stand right behind me. "What?" I snapped, finally turning to look at his annoying face.
"What crawled up your ass, princess?"
"Would you like to know, Desmond?"
"Nah, not interested. Just here to deliver the message that sire won't be here until the evening. But you can't skip training. Your advances are still sloppy, might I tell you."
"So you have been demoted again as being the messenger now? Interesting."
"Why you-" he was going to advance towards me when a voice interrupted us.
"What's going on here?" I saw the same maid who was responsible for taking food to Anastasia the other day. "Desmond? What would you need in the kitchen?" She suspiciously eyed him before her gaze landed on me. "No go before I report that you are not on duty." He huffed irritatedly before taking his annoying self out.
"What are you doing here?" This time I asked her.
"Same old. Taking food for the prisoner."
"Leave, I'll take care of it."
I made my way through the similar hideous corridors until my eyes fell on the two bulky men guarding the main doors of the dungeon.
"You've been visiting a lot these days, madam?" One of them asked.
"Need to have a word with the bitch inside. Father's order." He simply nodded before opening the gate for me. Standing in front of the cell was another guard who frowned on my arrival.
"Open," he followed my order, nonetheless, before I stepped in, alarming Anastasia. She stood up immediately, backing away. I silently moved forward with a stoic face until I was at a hand's distance. I carefully placed the tray down before turning to leave. I saw the guard's back facing us to keep an eye on the main doors for any intruders. I smirked at his stupidness. The intruder was already in.
I quickly stepped forward to clamp my hand over his mouth from behind as he jerked trying to get rid of me. I heard his muffled voice calling out for the guards at the main gate, which earned a little gasp from the girl behind me.
His hands reached out to pull my hair and to grab his gun that was tucked in his waistband, but was too late as my blade had already slit his throat open. I turned to look at Anastasia, who had her eyes wide as the saucers and jaw hanging low. She tried to say something but nothing came out.
I simply ignored her, letting the man drop on the ground before stepping over his body to make my way towards the main gates. I thought she would get the hint, but man, the girl was slow!
"You coming or not?" I finally spoke when she hadn't followed my steps and finally shook her head as if snapping herself out of a trance before following me.
"Oh dear," I mumbled to myself, rolling my eyes before we got to the main doors of the dungeon.
"Stay here. Come out once I tell you to," she nodded before I walked out of the gates, leaving her behind.
I stepped out, I saw the two men turn to face me. I silently prayed in my mind for my next move to work, otherwise it would be game over for me.
I quickly chanted the fainting charm that I memorized from the book and the next moment I saw the stupid hulks' faces drop down on the ground with their eyes closed. I huffed, not believing it actually worked. Well, fuck yeah! I quickly called Anastasia and she followed my command.
We carefully made our way through the corridors, coming to the main area of the house, which was mostly empty unless Balthazar was there with his men.
"Why are you helping me?" I heard her little voice.
"This is not the time to play twenty questions, Ana. And would you rather have yourself still trapped in that cell?" She immediately nodded, saying no.
"That's what I thought. Now, link or… do whatever telepathy you guys do with those brains of yours and tell your father to come to the woods," I told her.
"I can't, your dad-" my glare cut her off mid sentence for calling that creature my dad. "I..I mean Balthazar put some spell on me."
"Of course he did!" I sighed. "Well, do you at least remember what it was called? Or what did he say?"
"He said something along the lines of 'The Blocking Charm'," I quickly pulled out the book from under my shirt before rummaging through the pages. Anastasia observed me carefully as I did my job until my eyes finally landed on the words I was looking for. A victory smile graced my lips when I read the charm to reverse it. Focusing on the spell, I chanted it aimed at her before she shut her eyes tightly just to open them a second later.
"Can you get him now?" I saw her eyes haze for a minute, detaching her from the present, and I mentally prayed for this to work. A moment later she blinked back, looking at me with a cheery smile.
"Got him!" A smile of my own bloomed on my lips, not believing that I had actually come this far. Honestly, I thought I would get busted in the dungeon itself. But Balthazer not being here was the only chance I had and there was no way I would not make the most of it.
"Great. Let's not stop then shall we," she nodded before we secretly made our way out of the living room, making sure to stay hidden.
I was already rejoicing in my head for making it look too easy to step out of the house without getting caught, but I think I jinxed it when I heard the next words.
"Going somewhere?"
