Sylvia stood silent, looking at the ground in guilt. And that was enough to let me know the answer to my questions. She had misled me. Lied to me. “You knew didn't you? Yet you lied? Why?” My voice came out in a mere whisper.
“Mia, I had no choice. Please you have to understand—” she sounded very guilty, as if begging me to listen to her.
“Why? Why should I understand? You were the one who made me believe that it wasn't possible. If you were really on my side, you could have simply told me the truth!” I yelled at her.
“Mia, I was scared. If Balthazar found out that you found your mate, it wouldn't have ended right.” Sylvia looked between Christian and me.
