i'm crazy at these names
As they entered the kitchen, the warm lights cast a soft glow over the space.
The outside had already long ago became midnight, and in a few hours, the sun would rise again.
Nephis went to grab a mug, her movements fluid as she set it down on the counter. She shot a glance at Sunny, her expression unreadable for a moment.
"You're really not going to let it go, huh?" she asked, breaking the silence as she filled the mug with coffee.
The strong aroma filled the room, making the space feel even cozier.
Sunny leaned against the counter, watching her with a smirk. "Let what go?"
She rolled her eyes, but there was a hint of amusement behind them. "You know what I mean. That little game you've been playing."
Sunny chuckled softly, pushing himself off the counter and taking a step closer. "What can I say? You make it too easy," he teased.
Obviously, he'd been more open, more forward. He's teased her more, responded to her dirty remarks with the same of his own. He loved seeing those many reactions of Nephis, if he could describe if, his heart would flutter.
Nephis narrowed her eyes, setting the coffee pot back down on the counter with a soft clink. "Don't think you've won yet," she said, her tone teasing but with an edge to it. "You might have one victory tonight, but that doesn't mean you'll get off the hook so easily."
Sunny raised an eyebrow, leaning in just slightly, their faces now mere inches apart.
"Tonight? Don't you rememeber the festival, or the countless other times I won? Oh, I think I'm pretty good at getting off the hook when I want to," he said smoothly, his voice lowering as his gaze flicked between her lips and her eyes.
Nephis smirked, her own eyes narrowing in amusement. "Is that so?" she challenged, her breath brushing against his skin as she leaned just a little closer. "Prove it."
Sunny grinned, his heart picking up speed at the closeness.
But instead of responding with words, he reached out, gently pulling her into yet anotherkiss, this time slow and deliberate.
Sunny couldn't get enough. He felt as if every time he kissed her, it was a whole new experience.
When they finally pulled back, Nephis was the first to speak, her voice low and steady. "You know, you're never going to make this easy for me, are you?"
Sunny's smirk didn't fade. "I never said I would," he replied, his tone playful.
Nephis laughed softly, shaking her head. "You're exhausting," she muttered, though there was no real bite to her words.
She finished pouring the coffee and handed him a mug.
Sunny accepted it with a grin, wrapping his fingers around the warm ceramic. "It's just who I am, Nephis," he said, winking as he took a sip.
"But I'm sure you've figured that out by now."
She rolled her eyes again, though she couldn't help the small smile tugging at the corners of her lips.
"You're impossible," she muttered, leaning against the counter and taking a sip of her own coffee. "But I guess I wouldn't have you any other way."
There was a comfortable silence between them then.
The kind that only came after moments of intimacy.
The kind that felt easy and natural.
Sunny took another sip of his coffee, letting the warm liquid settle in his chest.
"You know," he said after a moment, breaking the quiet, "you're going to regret teaching me how to fight dirty."
Nephis raised an eyebrow, looking at him over the rim of her mug. "You think I taught you that?"
He grinned. "Oh, I learned by going through your endless suffering." His eyes sparkled with mischief.
"Tennis? Water park? The mall? The beach? All those times you teased me."
She gave him a half-amused, half-exasperated look. "I'm starting to wonder who's the real troublemaker here."
Sunny winked, setting his mug down and stepping closer to her.
"That would be me," he said, voice low and playful.
Nephis met his gaze, her lips quirking into a sly smile. "I'm starting to think you're right."
Sunny leaned upwards, annoyingly having to go on his tiptoes.
He brushed a strand of hair out of her face before giving her a quick kiss on the forehead.
"You're lucky," he muttered, almost as if to himself. "I could get used to this."
Nephis looked down at him, her eyes soft. "You already have," she replied, her voice just above a whisper.
