Chapter 1: The Extra in the Tower

'Heh? What the hell?' Opening my eyes as my vision slowly adjusts to the light. I find myself not in my room anymore but in some kind of dirty cell. Some kind of metal cuff was on my wrists and ankles, looking back up, and saw multiple people in dirty and raggy clothes with cuffs on their wrists and ankles just like me.

'Huh? Why do they look... familiar?' He questions himself as the people in front of him until his eyes land on a red-haired girl as his eyes widen. 'Erza?'

The girl in front of him was Erza Scarlet but not the armor warrior version that he knew. This is was her back before she left the Tower of Heaven.

'What the hell is going on here!? I was in my room and...' He thought remembering he was writing his novel before he fell face-first down, passing out again. He overworks himself to the point his body shuts down on itself. And usually, he just wakes up the next day, eats, and works till he faints again. 'So I finally kick the bucket.'

Letting out a sigh, he looked down at the ground, he always knew he was going to die sooner or later with how neglectful he was with his body. He looks up and sees old man Rob telling the children about his guild Fairy Tail.

After his story, he saw Erza, Jellal, Simon, Sho, Wally, and Millianna sneak to a part of the tower, as he followed behind making sure to not let them notice him, he saw them go into the escape route they were trying to dig but it never works as the only thing that seems to cover it were some wooden boxes and the dark.

'According to Erza's backstory, this is where she lost one of her eyes.' He thought, noticing the guards and the guard dogs making their way toward the hole.

'I shouldn't mess with the story.' He thought and was about to turn back before he suddenly felt bad for what was about to happen next to all of them, knowing full well what was going to happen to Erza and everyone here. But he couldn't bring himself to just sit by and watch them get hurt. 'I'm gonna regret this.'

Turning back, he made his way into the hole, as he got in, he could see the shocked and worried faces they all had, but before they could voice anything, he spoke up in a low voice. "Get out now, the guard is coming."

All of their eyes widen, now somewhat panicking before Jellal steps forward. "Thank for the head up, but if we stay quiet enough, they probably won't notice." He said with a calm voice, but the other boy only shook his head. "They have guard dogs, hurry we don't have much time."

This makes all of their eyes widen, knowing that if they don't hurry, they might get caught. He watches them making their way out as quietly as possible before he suddenly notices Erza tapping his shoulder.

"If you don't mind me asking, what is your name?" She asked with a low voice as they were to the last two in the back of the group.

Looking at her, as he was reminded of a white-haired character in one of his novels, he took inspiration from Erza's direct, and strong personality and a strong desire for change and growth. "Fate Redgrave," He said with a smile before noticing white bangs over his eyes.

Joining the Story: +10 Points

A small notification appeared in the corner of Fate's vision that he didn't seem to notice. As they reached closer to the entrance, Sho accidentally fell gaining the guard's attention, they were a couple of distances away from them, and the guard began running toward them with their pathetic attempt of a dog, braking at the kids.

'Shit.' Fate thought seeing the other coward in fear, as they soon get surrounded by them. 'Well so much for helping.' He thought standing beside Jellal and Simon in front of the others.

"Thought you could escape so easy, you brats!?" A fat man wearing the same clothes as the guard walks up in front of them. "Despite the fact they need to complete the R-system as soon as possible!?"

"Normally we would just send you to your room." A guard in blue clothing walks up next to him. "Who came up with this escape plan? I'll just take them."

This makes all the kids shaken in fear, Jellal hesitates but also does not want the others to get hurt, as he is about to step up and take the blame for them. "I did." Fate said making all eyes turn to the extra. 'I have to react quick, in the original story, Jellal cut off Erza so they thought it was her, and Jellal was covering for her. If I step in I could save Erza some of the pain.'

The guards look at Fate much to the shock of others. 'I'm expendable.'

+7 SP

'Huh?' Fate thought, seeing a weird "+7 SP" appears in the corner of his vision, much to his confusion.

"Oh? Is that so?" The guard said snapping him out of his thoughts as he looked back up at him.

'Shit, he's doubting my words. Think what should I do?' Fate thought looked up before a smirk appeared on his face. "What, don't believe me? Or are you just scared?" He taunts them, much to everyone's shock.

+15 SP

The guard only smirks back. "Oh no. I believe you. Take him away!" He orders to take the Fate away.

'SP? What is that? Why does this look like some stats points you gain on a game?' Fate thought not saying anything or noticing Erza's distressed face. 'So how do I Start it?' He thought as suddenly a magenta screen appeared in front of him, much to his shock it seemed only he could see this.

'This is... similar to a game.' He thought looking at the screen. 'Considering my knowledge of RPG games. I need to make sure I survive this, seeing how I'm just an extra, not a main character. I need to invest in "luck". Luck isn't just limited to a chance of finding rewards, getting money, bonus stats, interpersonal relations, etc... It's a cheat stat that applies to every aspect of life. I could also be my life saver.' He thinks staring at his luck stats, not paying any attention to the guard that pushed him to his knees, as he didn't have much of a response when they shocked him with electricity magic.

10 points have been converted to 10000 SP.

'Now then.' Fate looks at his luck stat thinking of transferring his SP to his luck, as the guard walks closer to him holding a knife.

Transferring 5000 SP to luck.

'This is aweso-' "AHHHH!" He was snapped out of his thoughts feeling the knife stabbing his left eye, but before his mind could register the full feeling, the man pulled the knife out ripping out his eyeball, as Fate screamed in pain blood pouring out from his left eye. Before they increase the amount of electricity in the magic shocking him even more.

Finally getting a response from the white-haired boy, the guard can't help but smile hearing his scream, he raises his hand ordering the other to stop. "There, this shall teach you to know your place. Throw him back with the rest." The guard said as the other dragged Fate away.

'Son of a bitch, I'll remember this.' He thought being dragged away, as blood dripped from his eye to the ground. As his body was covered with burn marks from the lightning they used to torture him but he didn't respond.

Enormous luck takes effect, changing [Tenacity] to 6.1

'I see, so that's how I earn SP. By interacting with the world.' He thought as the guards were carrying him away, his body was in pain, as they reached the cell. The other prisoner's eyes widen seeing his bloody eye as the guards just throw his body inside not even bothering to cover up his wound.

"Fate!" He heard Erza's voice call out to him, looking up with his right eye he saw her, he was lying on the cold ground with Erza right next to him, tears dripping down both her eyes as she held on to him tightly.

'Fuck... so this is how she felt during that time...' He thought knowing full well he just intervened in one major part of the story. Doing so Erza won't have her Artificial Eye meaning part of the story will be changed, 'Shit... I forgot that part of the story.' Fate thought before passing out from the pain.

Hidden skill [Death Door] unlocked.

[Death Door] stopping "Fate Redgrave" from dying (1/9) the skill will lose its effect once all nine lives are used.

"Ughhh." Slowly opening his single eye, Fate looked to see Simon carrying him, as they were currently in the middle of the revolt. 'So Erza awaken her magic.'

"You're awake!?" Simon said looking back up to see the white-haired boy grunted.

"What happened?" He asks already knowing full well what happens but he needs to put up an act.

"After you return and pass out, Erza snaps and unlocks her magic. Now we're fighting for our freedom." Simon said with hope in his voice, as Fate just smiled. 'So the story is changing again, with Jellal never going to try and save Erza, and getting captured and then brainwashed.'

"Can you let me down?" He asked as Simon let him down on his feet, despite his body being in pain, he still tried to stand looking up as everyone had successfully beaten the guards. "Careful." Simon said still looking at him.

"Thank... Where is Erza?" Fate asks trying to locate the scarlet-haired girl but it's really hard to make out where she currently is.

"She went to rescue Jellal," Simon said as Fate's eye widened, looking at the black-haired kid. "What? Why?"

"After they take you away, Jellal tries to rescue you but he doesn't come back. After the guard threw you back in the cell, he said that they also captured Jellal." Simon said with a worried voice.

'FUCK! My luck is supposed to be high! What the hell!? Why would that idiot risk his life for an extra like me!?' Fate thought as he began walking off, much to Simon's shock.

"Where are you going?" He asks looking at the white-haired boy.

"There is something I have to do. Just go I'll catch up later." He said, not even taking a moment to look back at the other boy.

Making his way back to the destroyed ground where they were once forced to work, Fate looked up at a wall and waited. After a bit of time passed Erza was launched out from the wall, and he quickly ran up and caught her.

"Ughh!" He grunted feeling the red head crash right into his chest.

"Fate!?" Erza questioned looking down at him, now on top of the white-haired boy.

"Ho? Look like the idiot that wants to play hero is also here." Jellal's voice can be heard as he walks out from the holes looking down at us. "If you want to leave this place so badly, you can leave along with that hero wannabe. I'm going to keep everything here."

A magic circle appeared underneath Fate and Erza as they were both painfully lifted from the ground by red thick markings that bound their bodies.

"Leave this island and enjoy your temporary "freedom". But you both will tell no one of this. I can't afford the government to know about the tower of Heaven" He said as his magic pulled us closer to him.

"If words do get out. Then I will be forced to annihilate this tower and everyone here. You two are also forbidden to come near here. Set one foot nearby, and..." He pauses and pulls Erza close to him. "Yes... Sho would be the first to go..."

"Jellal..." Erza uttered not believing this was the same Jellal that she once knew, as tears streamed down her eyes.

"Enjoyed your freedom! As you will be bearing the weight of your friends' lives, Erza!" Jellal said looking like a madman.

Timeskip, opening his eye again, Fate could feel he was lying on the sandy beach, the taste of salt water still on his tongue as he looked to his side seeing Erza who was also lying there next to him. They both got washed up to shore.

'Well, this when better than I thought... What am saying I fucked up the story.' Fate thought as he slowly got up holding his head in pain, seawater pouring out his empty eye socket. The bastard Jellel just threatened them and as much as he wanted to punch him in the face, but now he couldn't do anything as he is now. 'Start'

His screen appears in front of his eye looking at the new changes he now had.

Story Point: 5631

Skill: [Death Door](1/9)

'So me leaving with Erza earns me more SP. I should save up to make a talent.' He thought before looking back at the redhead, now on her knees as she cried. "Erza..." Fate said with a gentle voice, as the redhead turned to him with teary eyes.

"I'm sorry." Fate said much to her confusion as he got up still limping. 'I couldn't help her, I shouldn't even be here. I'm just a useless extra.' He thought gritting his teeth at his uselessness. 'And I fucked up an important part of the story, and now the battle of Fairy Tail, Laxus is going to win.'

"Please!" Erza's voice snapped him out of his thoughts as he looked back seeing Erza holding on to him, her tear falling on his back. "Don't... leave me." Her voice cries out as Fate realizes he is unconsciously walking away.

"I..." 'I shouldn't get more involved in the story. It'll only make things worse.' He was about to open his mouth, but he couldn't bring himself to say anything only standing still quietly as Erza cried on his back. 'She's all alone now, and I couldn't just abandon her like this.'

They didn't say anything, just standing there in silence for a bit. 'I'm just an extra that shouldn't even be in this story.' Looking down, his hand slowly moved up, and was about to push her hand away before deciding not to. 'I fucked up badly this time.'

Time Skip

As both Erza and Fate had been traveling by foot, for the past week. They have been traveling together as he was completely powerless without her, as she did all the fighting and hunting. 'I'm really just an extra. Can't even do anything to help her, other than cook the meat, and start the fire. Something she could do all by herself. I don't even have any magic, and the only single skill I had that gave me 9 lives, and I already used 1 of them.'

"Hey." Erza's voice calls out to him as he looks away from the huge guild building in front of them, his eye reaches down to Erza. "Let's go, we can look at it later." She said, her hand still held tightly on his, as they walked into the guild.

Reaching a guild: +2 points

"Hello." Hearing the voice of the old master, we both turn to him. Seeing the out-of-retirement back-to-back master of Fairy Tail, Makarov Dreyar. "Welcome to Fairy Tail." The master said with a warm smile, even though were we both wearing rags.

"Can we join?" Fate asks, looking at the old master as he nods still keeping up his warm smile.

"Of course, but we just need to run a small background check first." The old master said with a smile.

Joining a guild: +5 points

Time skips, after joining the guild and telling Makarov about their situation of needing a place to stay, he agrees and lets them stay together in one of the infirmary beds until they can get back on their feet. Now both Erza and Fate are staying on a bed in the guild infirmary. Despite days of traveling sleeping on the cold floor, and nights taking turns to keep watch. They finally get to sleep in a comfortable bed.

'Erza has been holding on to me like our hands were glued together.' He thought looking at the redhead that was lying on the same bed next to me, both sharing a blanket. Erza has been holding onto my hand for over 24 hours now.

'I don't want to be useless. I already got too involved with the story. I need to somehow fix this.' He thought, before looking at his stats screen turning 3 points to 3000 SP giving me over 10000 SP to use to make a Talent. 'Let's see, what skill should I create? Or magic?' I thought, thinking of what talent I should make, before an idea came to mind, an ability from one of my novels.

[Self Deception] It makes the impossible, possible as long as the user believes in himself. With it, they could almost do anything as long as they believed they could do it.

He looks at his new skill with a satisfied look. 'Self Deception is a good starting choice, plus it can even call plot armor in disguise. If I want to fix my mistake, I need power.' He then narrowed his single eye back to Erza who was sleeping peacefully.

Letting out a small sigh, and tugged himself back in bed with Erza next to him. 'I going to get a full rest, and I'm going to wake up early and train tomorrow to get stronger.' He thought as his eye got sleepy before closing it, repeating his words over and over before he fell asleep.

'Just how long has it been since I lay on a warm bed?'
