Chapter 3 The Incident

Early morning in the Fairy Tail Guild.

"EHHH!" Erza let out a yell, filled with shock and worry.

Fate avoids making eye contact with the scarlet-haired girl, he had bandage wrapped around both his arms, moving all up to his shoulder. The extra reaches back and scratches the back of his head.

"Morning..." His voice trails off before Erza tackles him to the ground, as his head slams against the wooden floor. He felt the redhead's body on top of him and she was most likely glaring at him right about now.

He has two options. The first was to open his eye and face her wrath like a man and probably get killed by her. Or he could use [Self Deception] to fake being unconscious and hope for Erza's anger to die down and she spares his life.

'Option two it is.' Fate faked unconsciousness; he felt Erza slamming his head repeatedly against the ground. 'Damn it if this goes on, I'm truly going to die!'

Last night, he used [Self Deception] to make his swing strong enough to cut through the body of the goblin. But doing so strained his muscles to the point that he needed to bandage them up. After all, his body isn't much developed, not to mention he doesn't have magic to even aid him. If anyone else with no magic similar to him goes into the dungeon all alone like him last night, it could be considered suicide.

"Wake up! Hey! Wake UP! WAKE UP!"

Fate heard Erza's voice calling out for him louder and louder. But the one-eyed boy stayed silent, as he could clearly hear the anger in her voice.

'Well while I wait for her anger to die down, might as well do something to pass the time.'

'Well, I can't do much. I need almost 3 days to even use my gacha skill again. Why the hell did I even manage to get [Dancer] anyway? I mean could I get something a bit better? Like could I get a better talent, something that actually helps me with day-to-day life?'

He then heard sniffing and something wet on his face, thinking it was safe now. Fate forces his eye open, and his head hurts like hell, as his vision slowly adjusts to the light, Fate can see the redhead on top of him, her tears falling on his face. 'She was crying?'

"You're awake!" Erza said pulling Fate into a tight hug, tears dripping down her eyes. "Thank god! You're alive."

"Don't cry Erza..." Fate uttered, his head hurt like hell. "I won't leave you."

The word came out of his mouth without him even thinking about it, the extra look annoyed at himself for doing something so dumb. He's just an extra to the story, he shouldn't get involved too much and what he has just done, would only make it more difficult for them in the future, when they would eventually separate. His eye narrow down, remembering the words of a red archer.

That's hell you're walking into.

'Shit... I just accidentally pulled a Shirou.' Fate thought, placing a hand behind the back of his head, but as he moved his hand away, he found a red liquid covering his palm. Turning back to the spot where his head was slammed over and over again by Erza, he saw a small pool of blood. 'Was she really going to kill me without even trying!?'

Eventually, Fate got his head bandaged, but more to his annoyance now both their hands were wrapped together with bandages. Now the redhead is determined to stay by her only friend's side and won't let him out of her sight. Which sounds kinda cute on paper, but in actuality is pretty horrible.

"Uhhh. Erza. Can we please not do this?" Fate said, hoping the redhead would show sympathy and let him go but that's just hopeful thinking.

"No! I leave you for one night! And the next day I came to see you wrapped entirely in bandages." Erza said, which isn't completely true since his muscles are strained from his arms to his torso. The one around his head is because of her.

"How are we even supposed to take jobs like this?" Fate asked, trying to think of a way out of this since he wouldn't survive if he just cut the bandage off and he's pretty sure Erza won't let it slide.

"We'll work this through, come. Let's do a job." Said the redhead as she dragged the one-eyed boy to the quest board. Suddenly a black-haired boy in a boxer jumped in front of them, ready to pick a fight with Erza. "I got you now Erza! There is no way you could win with only one-"

"Move!" Said the redhead, as with a swing of her blade, the boy was sent flying crashing into a table before he lay there unconscious.

'Ok, no cutting the bandage.' Fate thought, feeling a chill up his spine, from how Erza could easily one-shot Gray with just a swing.

Just like that, they went on with their day as usual doing a job, a wolf-hunting job. Again Fate feels useless being dragged around by Erza as she chases after the silver wolf, normally he won't be able to keep up with her if she runs using her magical energy so she is carrying him while chasing the wolf. But the white-haired boy doesn't know what hurt more. Erza carrying him bridal style or the fact she said he was as light as a feather?

'I could have tried to snipe it but not with a left hand!' Fate thought in annoyance being carried by Erza, their hand were bandaged together.

'Is this really the world of Fairy Tail that I know?' He thought again, recalling that Fairy Tail doesn't have those types of goblin he saw last night. The goblins in Fairy Tail, look more like adorable animals with a leaf on their chest. But those are from Goblin Slayer, down from the look to the way they acted.

'But how are they even here? Something isn't right here.'

Condition Unlocked: [Magician's Library]

[Magician's Library] - With direct contact with a target, the user can add the info of the magic to their personal library. Gaining both access to the knowledge and affinity for the magic they have collected.

'What? What condition?' Fate thought, looking at the notification with a shocked and confused look. Fate looks up at Erza as his hand reaches up touching her.

'It works!' "AGGHH!" Fate was snapped out of his thought as his body was violently swung at a tree by the redhead. Her face blushed red as the white-haired boy touched her chest, and he was knocked out cold from the force of her swing that bent his arm at a weird angle.

"FATE!" Those were the last words he heard before he lost consciousness.

After some time, Fate opens his eyes and sees the ceiling of a wooden house, his eyes move around the room and he immediately realizes this is Porlyusica's tree house. He quickly gets up looking around not seeing Porlyusica anywhere.

'Just how long was I out?' He questioned himself, placing a hand over his face before noticing he now had both eyes again. Makarov probably asked Porlyusica to give him the artificial eye that was meant for Erza. 'Start'

The screen appear in front of his vision showing him the new changes he had.

'Wait a minute...' Fate notices his increase in Magic Power and the extra points he gets until his eyes narrow down to his [Gacha Talents] which is completely recharged meaning he has been out for at least 3 days. Then he noticed his first skill [Death Door] was now used twice, meaning... 'I die again... I knew Erza was going to kill me sooner or later.'

Walking back into the house, Porlyusica was surprised to see Fate was awake but the boy didn't respond to her, he just stared into nothingness. This weirds the old woman out as she calls out for him but gets no response from the white-haired boy. "BOY! Say something! You're freaking me out!" Porlyusica tried calling, shaking, and even hitting him with her broom but no response.

'Motherfucker!' Fate said in his mind looking at the new talent he get.

[Harvester] - The user gains a 10-25% increase in bonus and efficiency with their gathering.

'Am I supposed to become a farmer now!?' Fate thought sarcastically to himself as he is pissed at this system of his. He then snapped back to reality, looking up and meeting the worried eyes of Porlyusica, Makarov, and Erza.

"Ughh." Fate looked back at them, somewhat freaked out seeing their worried faces. According to the story, Porlyusica doesn't show much care for the people in the guild due to them being human. Seeing her face filled with worry wasn't something he expected to see this early on. "Is something wrong?"

Fate asked and Erza began to tear up, her grip on the edge of the bed tightening to the point it cracked. Makarov let out a sigh of relief.

"Child, how many fingers am I holding up?" Porlyusica asks raising three fingers.

"Ugh... Three." Fate answered and Porlyusica let out a sigh, showing her concern which made him feel odd.

"Thank god you're okay. Child, what did you see a few moments ago?" Porlyusica asked with worry in her voice that freaked him out again.

"I saw..." Fate hesitates thinking up a lie that doesn't sound too much like BS, but it needs to be somewhat believable. Even if he told them that this world is supposed to be a fictional world created by a guy named Hiro Mashima. They won't believe him and just call him crazy. "My death."

He answered which was not completely correct but somewhat true, he did die. As Erza swung him so hard his spine and bones shattered and he died, it was only thanks to [Death Door] that stopped him from actually kicking the bucket, again. 

Tears fell from Erza's eyes, as she gripped the wooden frame of the bed, breaking it, thinking his vision was of her killing him. Before she could even turn and run off. "Erza!" Fate called out and Erza stopped at her track, she wanted to run away, she couldn't bear the thought of him hating her and leaving her like Jellal.

The redhead slowly looks up at her only friend, brown eyes meet icy blue. Erza was visibly shaking not because Fate was scary, but it's because Erza was afraid that Fate wouldn't want to be her friend anymore and she would be all alone.

After escaping from the Tower of Heaven, Fate was the only one besides her, despite him not having any magic or could even fight. He guided her to Fairy Tail when they were traveling he was always the one who started the fire to help them cook their food, and taught her how to get fresh water, when they keep watch at night, he let her sleep another hour before switching, and even after they reached the guild he's still beside her, she is really grateful for him. And if he decides he doesn't want anything to do with her now, she won't even hate him.

"It isn't your fault."

Erza's eyes burst open as she looked up at the boy that she had called friends these past weeks.

"What happened is an accident, I don't blame you."

That was all she needed to hear as she couldn't hold herself anymore, jumping up on the bed and hugging him, tears streaming down her eyes.

"Thank you thank you thank you!"

Fate can only look at his crying friend and smile. A genuine warm smile. Makarov smiles seeing this, seeing Fate somewhat lower the barrier around himself and letting others into his life.

'This isn't the Erza I knew from the series. She is more emotional now. Would this actually benefit the story moving forward or would this change gonna lead us to a bad end?' Thought the white-haired boy as he hugged the crying redhead back.

'Let's see what fate has awaited me up ahead.'

After that day, we went on as normal. Well as normal as you can say for this guild. 

"It's decided I'm going to train you from this day on!" Erza said with confidence in her voice as she handed him a wooden sword.

He didn't get much of a say in this as she beat him down with her wooden sword.

Condition Unlocked: [Trickster]

[Trickster] - The user has an increase in agility and mobility by 8-16% and an increase in manipulation by 15%. They can do a midair jump/dash twice before touching the ground again.

Fate quickly used his new skill and dashed backward, avoiding a swing from Erza, as she swung her sword again, he jumped away again. She charged at him and he dashed behind her, she spun back and swung her sword as he dashed away again.

Erza's eyes twitch in annoyance glaring at Fate. As she swung her sword again, this time faster, she put more force into her swing, and it hit him in the back of the head and he crashed face-first down the ground.

"Fate!" Erza yells out, realizing she put too much force on her swing. She quickly kneels down trying to get him up.

"HAHAHAHA!" A laugh can be heard in the background, glancing back, Erza saw it was Gray. "You got your ass kicked by a girl! No wonder why she almost killed you!" Gray said before laughing again.

Erza tilted her head back to Gray with a dark, ominous aura around her as she slowly raised a real sword.

'Fuck! That hurt.' Fate gets up, holding his head before looking around, and seeing Erza beating Gray to an inch of his life. 

"Alright alright. That's enough." He said suddenly appearing behind Erza wrapping both arms around her belly, lifting her up, and turning away.

"What the!? Hey! Fate let me down! I haven't done beating the stripper yet!"

"Right right. I don't think he would survive if you continue." Fate said much to everyone's shock, as he carried the raging redhead away, Erza could easily break free but she didn't.

Everyone already accepts that Gray is going to be dead seeing how Erza is beating him. What they didn't expect is that someone who just get knocked out by one blow can easily lift her up and walk off like that.

"Th-Thank you..." Gray murmured as he was beaten to an inch of his life, luckily Fate was there to stop her, or else he might actually be dead right about now.

The next day.

"Fate help me!" Gray is running from Erza who is chasing him with a sword raise. The extra let out a sigh, seeing the boy in his boxer running from the angry redhead. Before walking up and saving the Ice Mage again.

Gray feared Erza from then on, and he sees Fate as his savior. 

The next month, nothing much happened, Fate got some reroll on his already existing Talents increasing them to the next level, Erza was really happy to know Fate unlocked Requip Magic. But she was somewhat disappointed that his fighting style is of an assassin rather than a knight like her.

'What the hell am I supposed to do with this?' Fate thought, looking at his newest skill [Music Player]

[Music Player] - The user can play any song or music that they have heard before both in and outside their mind. The songs and music are kept in a list for the user to choose from.

'Wait a minute...' He thought looking at the list of songs he could choose from before a smile appeared on his lips.

'Now we're talking!' Fate smiles to himself listening to "Devils Never Cry".

A few more months passed nothing changed much, Fate gained a few rerolls on his Talent giving his old Talent a bit of an upgrade.

What surprised him was that [Gacha Talents] got an upgrade and thanks to it, he got [Master Cook] which is very useful but the catch is he has to wait for a month now if he wants to use [Gacha Talents].

He also figures out why he is so weak compared to the other mage. When they unlock their magic they can use the magic energy to enhance their body. But since he unlocked his magic through a cheat way, he doesn't have that ability, he can only use the magic. This means he has to create it but...

[Magic Control] - cost: 50000SP

To do so, he needs around 50000SP. So he's just a bit stronger than a regular human that doesn't have magic.

There is also the new addition to the guild that goes by the name of Natsu Dragneel, a Fire Dragon Slayer, who immediately after joining, picks a fight with Gray and got both of their ass kicked by Erza.

"Hey! Let's fight!" Natsu asks looking at Fate. "I heard you are stronger than Erza. So by beating you, that means I beat her!" Natsu said with joy in his voice as his fist flared up with flame.

"That's not how it works." Fate said looking at the pink-haired boy who, without waiting a second charged at Fate, his fist covered with fire ready to punch him. Until Erza suddenly appears grabbing Natsu by his neck and lifting him up.

The young boy struggles to break free as he is terrified at the glare Erza is giving him.

"He won't be joining in any fight unless he wants to, got it!?" Erza said with a menacing and demanding tone.

By now most of the Fairy Tail Mages already knew how weak Fate's body was compared to the other children his age, not wanting to accidentally harm him, they avoid dragging him into any of their guild brawls in fear of harming him and they will have to meet the wrath of a very angry Erza.

'Soul Copying?' Fate thought, looking at the magenta screen in front of him as he walked back to his seat leaving Erza to continue her punishment to the pinkhead. Gray snickers at the scene as there has been some taboo rule that almost everyone in the guild knows. 

First: Never try to pick a fight or attack Fate Redgrave with Erza around.

Second: Never make fun of Erza's hair. Or mention the incident.

Third: Don't get on Fate's bad side. Since he might just be the one that saves you from a raging Erza.
