Chapter 50: "The Sealed Room: Unveiling the Horror of Room 221"

Jiang Chen barely paid attention to the chaos erupting in his live stream chat. With his [Level 2 Dark Vision], he moved effortlessly through the dimly lit corridor, his sharp gaze locking onto the fading white shadow that had just vanished at the far end.

"Jiang! Wait for us!"

Barlow's panicked voice echoed behind him.

Jiang Chen didn't even slow down. "Keep up," he said flatly before sprinting forward.

Barlow and the others exchanged helpless glances before scrambling after him, their faces pale with fear. In their hearts, one thing was becoming painfully clear—challenging Jiang Chen had been the worst decision of their lives. Chinese explorers were not human. They were demons in disguise!

Jiang Chen reached the middle of the corridor, eyes scanning the path ahead.

There were two staircases in the Gonjiam Mental Hospital.

One was at the far end, but that door had been sealed off years ago.

The other was in the middle of the corridor.

Jiang Chen narrowed his eyes. The shadow had disappeared too quickly—almost unnaturally so.

He had no doubts.

It went upstairs.

Without hesitation, he bolted for the staircase.

Meanwhile, Barlow and his team were at their breaking point. The first floor had already shattered their nerves, and now they were about to step onto the second? Did Jiang Chen have a death wish?

"B-Boss…" William's voice trembled. "Do we really… have to go up?"

A sudden gust of wind howled through the hallway.

Barlow shuddered violently. His face turned green. "Stay down here and die, then!"

With that, he shoved past the two women in his group, racing up the stairs like his life depended on it.

Jiang Chen had already reached the second floor.

The structure was the same as the first—rows of sealed windows lining the left side of the corridor and abandoned rooms on the right.

The eerie part?

Despite the moonlight filtering in through cracks in the boarded windows, the entire hallway looked… wrong. The pale glow didn't make the space feel safer. It made everything look more distorted.

More unnatural.

Jiang Chen ignored the creeping sense of unease and searched for the white figure he had seen earlier.

Gone.

Jiang Chen's expression darkened. "It's not on the third floor, is it?"

He clicked his tongue and continued forward.

Barlow and the others arrived, breathless and sweating.

The air on the second floor felt heavier—colder.

William swallowed. "W-Where did it go?"

Jiang Chen didn't answer. He was already searching the rooms.

Bathroom…

Wards…

Offices…

Treatment rooms…

Each one was empty.

By the time Jiang Chen reached the end of the hallway, he finally found something unusual.

A pile of old furniture—tall chairs and wooden cabinets stacked haphazardly, blocking off a large metal storage locker.

Jiang Chen narrowed his eyes.

Something was wrong.

He remembered the first floor's layout perfectly. There should have been another room here, just like the one downstairs.

So why was this section barricaded?

"Wait a minute…" Jiang Chen murmured.

Barlow and the others approached hesitantly.

Jiang Chen turned to them, his voice calm but firm.

"The room behind this is the legendary Room 401."

Barlow blinked. "That doesn't make sense. This is only the second floor. How can this be Room 401?"

Jiang Chen smirked. "That's because the real Room 401 is actually Room 221."

Barlow froze.

The color drained from his face.

William took a shaky step back. "N-No way…"

Even Laura and Judy, who had been clinging to each other for comfort, visibly tensed.

They had read the legends.

Room 401 and Room 221 were the same.

The cursed room.

No one who entered ever came back out.

Jiang Chen grinned.

They had already stepped into a mental hospital overflowing with terrifying legends. What was one more?

The moment he smiled, Barlow and the others felt their souls leave their bodies.
